There's a filly running tonight named Percy's Bar. She's named after Percy Pool. A bartender who spent 47 years behind the bar at Keeneland and Churchill Downs. A fixture. The kind of person who knew everybody's name and made every trip to the track feel like coming home. He passed away in 2024. Tonight, under the lights at Churchill, a horse carrying his name will run in the Kentucky Oaks. Some stories deserve to be told. Happy Oaks Day!

@Smokahontas2024 @NateMorris He claims to be a ninth generation Kentuckian. The math doesn’t math. I’m a sixth generation and we came in the 18th century. Ask him about Rubicon going bankrupt. It’s his favorite topic.

It doesn’t matter how many out of state paid influencers get their little checks to spam Deep State @NateMorris propaganda on their sad little X pages. I’ve been out campaigning, going to church, and talking to real locals about the election and guess what? Nobody ever brings up Nate Morris. Not one person. Most of ‘em don’t even know who the hell he is 😂 Real talk from real Kentuckians > astroturfed influencer campaigns every single time.

New: "On the same day, at the same time, 3 of America's biggest conservative influencers on X all had the same thing to say about KY U.S. Senate candidate Nate Morris." I went long on that campaign, many others across the US & one of MAGA’s biggest stars. kentucky.com/news/politics-…

@Joe_Gerth He was born in a manger. A child. The Son of God simply said, “I am.” Herrod was afraid of a king, not knowing Jesus was the Messiah. His birth was not political, but immaculate. His resurrection was confirmation he is Christ.

@Johnny_Joey Thanks for the reply and let’s catch up about the Catholic faith. Centuries of sins are not modern day corruption and Saint Pope John Paul II addressed them during his time as pontiff. This past weekend was that of Divine Mercy and I hope you and I can both give and receive mercy

-Jews don’t believe that Jesus is the son of God or our messiah. -Mormons believe Joseph Smith re-established Jesus’ church here in America -Catholics believe the Pope is an earthly representative of Christ. I dont agree with any of that, nor am I “against” them. I share my country with them, and I share parts of my faith with them. However, I don’t want the leaders of any of those religions or the institutions they lead to have any sort of moral authority over my President.

@Johnny_Joey There's always a "but" with people like you. You are definitely anti-catholic......

Let me introduce you to RINO candidate Brian Morris, the Republican now auditioning for Pike County Judge-Executive. He shares the coziest of friendships with Ray Jones that devoted Beshear loyalist and current Pike County Judge-Executive the kind of cross-aisle bromance that makes you nostalgic for actual principles in Kentucky politics. After cutting a nice $1,000 check to Beshear’s campaign, Morris earned himself a seat on the board of corrections, courtesy of his loyalist pal. How marvelously merit-based. Since taking the reins as jailer, Pike County has been blessed with an unforgettable highlight reel: more inmate escapes than I can politely count, a detention center fire, a sexual abuse lawsuit, ARH now suing Morris for breach of contract, and inhumane treatment and abuse skyrocketing to levels that would embarrass even the most jaded bureaucrat in Frankfort. A true renaissance in local corrections. And let’s not forget his security company… the one that walked away with nearly $980,000 in PPP forgiveness loans, with son Dylan thoughtfully positioned on the board. Because nothing screams “fiscal responsibility” quite like keeping the family enterprise thriving on the public dime. Of course, Morris has assembled quite the roster of political insiders, strategically placing allies in key positions that just so happen to benefit him and his various companies. It’s almost as if public service is merely a side hustle. These gentlemen are so exquisitely corrupt that I used to spend my days teaching children how to hula hoop and crafting all natural home remedies for a quieter life. But no… these visionary public servants had to waltz in and ruin my community instead.

@DavidMMcintosh Can you explain why Nate Morris signed the Paris Climate Pledge, bankrupted a company that led to their delisting on the stock exchange, or hired Obama advisors? I guess no one told you. That’s how grifters work - they lie. And his money is from his wife’s Commerce connection.

@Greiser The rule of 144 is simply the rule of 72 times two-it doubles again. Not a new rule, just the same time with the same rule.

Last week a client showed me their 401(k). $600K. Mid-30s. Everything maxed. Their question: "Is this actually going to get me there?" They knew the Rule of 72 to double their money. They had no idea about tripling it. Or quadrupling it: ↓

Tell me the last time @BurgerKing was good (or actually had a chance)? It’s been steadier lately, but still primarily PE-owned. Unless you’re Inspire or JAB, that model rarely builds restaurant brands, it bleeds them. From ’97 to 2014, they were flipped five times: IPO, mergers, PE deals. Every time, equity was stripped. The brand suffered. Had to start over. This is why BK has always been a few steps behind: it was operated as a piggy bank, not a long-term viable operation. In the 90s, @BurgerKing was a big competitor. Our AUV was about $1.6M and BK’s was $1.2M. Fast forward to today: @McDonalds is at $4M and BK is only $1.6M over two decades later. They didn’t even keep up with inflation. I used to want the Burger Kings next to me closed, but now I want them all open. If they close, a stronger competitor is more likely to move in.
Pat Buckley ⛫@EmpiresPod_

Interesting read on 3G Capital, the firm that acquired Burger King in 2010 for $4.1B. That investment has ~30x'd, and now returns ~80% of the acquisition price annually via a dividend. But while 3G has done well, the Burger King brand in the US has struggled: 1 year after the acquisition, Wendy's surpassed Burger King in terms of total US sales - • Wendy's did $8.5B. • Burger King did $8.4B. This gap has only widened, as Wendy's now does ~$1.5B more US sales than Burger King. BK has also closed nearly ~10% of their US locations over the past 6 years. And with an Avg Unit Volume of $1.6M, they're far behind: • Culver's: $3.7M • Wendy's: $2.1M • McDonald's: $4.02M • Whataburger: $4.02M (only included brands with over 1,000 units) They're still the 3rd biggest burger chain in America, but similar to KFC, global growth has made up for domestic struggles. Stateside, they continue to bleed marketshare to competitors every year. This is a brand that's had 4 separate owners and 19+ CEO's since the founders sold in 1967. Very different from Wendy's and McDonald's, who were founder led for decades each (yes, Kroc is the franchise founder, don't @ me). Patrick Doyle - former Domino's CEO - is executive chairman of Restaurant Brands International - the company that owns BK. If anyone can turn things around domestically, it's him. I'm also interviewing a 90+ unit Burger King operator later this month - will be fun to dive into what he's seeing!

@McFranchisee You reward both, but at a different scale. The manager gets x, but the team gets y. X is for performance and y is in part because of the manager (x), but also acknowledging self contribution (y). You make it a rising tides raise all ships where the percentage of y is more than x.

Need advice: One of your top people is creating a culture where their team is more loyal to them personally than to the company itself. High performers who move into their team go from being positive about the company to being more focused on their loyalty to this manager, and it's starting to feel toxic. This isn't just a one-off situation; it's becoming a consistent pattern. What do you do?

@KySportsRadio Costs more than Amazon Prime at the lowest level with less return. Could also bundle with new ESPN streaming and still spend less. Think pricing is a bit out of touch, especially with new K Fund pricing that excludes student and employee discounts in future years.

Embarrassing is you championing DEI, sending your employees to non-bias classes to overcome white privilege, defending BLM rioters and saying you’d fight “injustice.” And remember you called Mitch your “mentor” in 2021 before your consultants attempted to remake you into a phony, fake, fraud. Have another Nikki check?
Nate Morris@NateMorris

It's embarrassing that @barrforsenate is regurgitating talking points from his "mentor" Mitch McConnell and smearing the entire America First movement as "nativists" because we oppose amnesty and want to deport all illegals. And then just when you think Barr can't get weaker on the border, he starts lecturing us about America being a "nation of immigrants" like some leftwing MSNBC host? This is his "basket of deplorables" moment. Of course, this is the same guy who previously bragged about how he was going to fight to stop President Trump's executive order to end birthright citizenship. He might not believe in American sovereignty, but the rest of us do. And the rest of us are sick and tired of our country being overrun with illegal immigrants. But the thing we're most sick and tired of are weak career politician RINOs like Andy Barr who always try to sell us out on amnesty. Mitch McConnell pushed amnesty his entire political career and so I guess its no surprise that Barr is following in his open border footsteps. I believe with every fiber of my being that the only way to protect our sovereignty as a nation, as well as the economic sovereignty of our citizens, is to deport every single illegal immigrant currently in America - Full stop.
