But I think it’s good for normal people who don’t want to be put on a list for petty things such as piracy or making edgy jokes (which unfortunately happens a lot these days).

@doorkun6 @garborg @qwe_304 @macjshiggins Proton can be compelled to log ip addresses and device info which can be traced directly back to you. Determined law enforcement can and will get that info. No online service is fully anonymous.

@garborg @qwe_304 @macjshiggins They can't send you a court order if they don't know who you are... Google asks for a phone number, and some people need a Google account with their real names for work purposes. So it makes sense to use an anonymous alternative when signing up for social media like Discord
