The Final Highlight Public Sales of 2025: MegaETH vs Monad @megaeth's public sale just closed, with $2.3M in bids canceled at the end. @monad's sale still has two more days to go. With both timelines overlapping, it’s natural that the two projects are being compared — especially since they share similar goals and mainnet timelines. I put together a quick table covering tech design, ecosystem, fundraising, tokenomics, and my personal take.👇 @megaeth : • Biggest risk: uncertain TGE + mainnet launch date. • Biggest strength: strong early onboarding. Many well-known projects are already building around MegaETH (I personally support early L1/L2s forming inner circles to bootstrap quality builders) • Tokenomics are interesting: over 50% of rewards secured for stakers, aligning network security with staker incentives. This could lead to strong value capture if executed well. @monad • Biggest risk: hyper-competitive L1 market (and L2 competition is unavoidable too). New L1s increasingly specialize in sectors like DeFi, stablecoins, RWA, or AI but Monad is a general-purpose L1, which means it needs a standout GTM to differentiate. • Biggest strength: a 2.1M+ community and strong momentum ahead of its mainnet, which launches in a few days. • Also worth noting: L1s typically have stronger token value capture than L2s (But pre-market pricing can be speculative, so applying a discount is wise) Both MegaETH and Monad have clear strengths and clear risks. Strengthening rewards for sENA These initiatives reinforce the flywheel, both of which converge on one axis: TVL growth, now positioned as the core of Ethena’s design. Through these moves, Ethena is evolving from a yield-focused protocol into a true stablecoin, pursuing trust and adoption, the two forces that ultimately establish stablecoins as real money. Yet limitations still stand in Ethena’s way: limited long-term testing, uncertain regulatory readiness, the absence of exclusive CEX and regional partners, and the large ENA unlocks. Cracking the Korean market could prove pivotal. As one of the world’s largest spot trading hubs, Korea offers Ethena the chance to secure both a powerful CEX partnership and a regional stronghold, even amid the challenges of KRW-centric pairs and a strict regulatory environment.
