@JosephLaMagna @fried_egg_golf ‘Probably’ should’ve won the Masters? Why? He certainly had a chance but retreated when it counted. He missed a 5 footer to go 3 shots clear on the 6th green then made a mess of the next hole and was rarely a factor on the back nine. Hardly the stuff of ‘probably’ should’ve won.

Had the Dodgers simply tied the game in the ninth and not walked it off, Dalton Rushing said he would’ve been at first base. With the bench emptied, that would’ve meant…Freddie Freeman at third(?), Max Muncy at second(?) Would’ve been interesting, to say the least.

@ShawnCroninsdog @KevinMcCurdy yup this, the call they made on the ice play at least decent weigh in the final call, no matter it crossed or no cross

@KevinMcCurdy Just last year they called this no goal on the ice and no goal on the review. youtube.com/watch?v=hJVPyk…. The call yesterday is a complete change in philosophy. The NHL should allow the refs to make a no-call (this is what they do on every off-side review) and let the video decide.

I haven't commented on this until now. "Logic" all of a sudden enters the equation as a valid means for calling goals "good", despite overwhelming history to the contrary. Some simple facts from this goal: - No official was in position to make this call on the ice, it should have been ruled no goal on the ice. That's just the facts. No ref was below the hash marks or anywhere close enough to conclusively call it in. No signal was made to this effect. Positioning failure should not result in one team being effectively penalized for that. - When such cases are ruled no goal on the ice, you need overwhelming conclusive evidence the puck completely crossed the line. Last I checked AI removals of objects and drawing circles around the puck aren't part of the situation rooms process. - If the league has a additional view that was used in this decision, that should be publicized. - It is my opinion that this puck completely crossed the line, but based on how these calls have historically gone, the process that has been used until now was tossed in the trashcan. So while the calls result is ultimately what we want from the on-ice product, the process that has been used up until now was completely thrown out the window. The league has a bit of soul-searching to do here and I believe this is a reasonable point to be perturbed with from the Oilers perspective. You can get the call right, and the process wrong, which means they need to change the process. Changing it on game 86 of the season is not the time.

For once it’s nice that logic prevailed. We all know this puck is fully across.

"I watched a lot of the Chevron, and I think my biggest takeaway was just how steely-eyed and focused Nelly was this week. Obviously you need to be super focused to win a major championship, but it felt like she was working on another level, perhaps unlocking a dominance we haven’t seen before. Multiple times in interviews after winning, she brought up that she wanted to prove you could still win a major championship even if you missed a few short putts and had a few miscues. It felt like an odd thing to emphasize, but not if you’ve followed her history. Sure, Korda has three majors, and she’s the first American to win a third major since Meg Mallon in 2000. But she’s also let a couple slip away with some mental lapses, particularly with her putter. That may be a narrative of the past. Even on Saturday when Korda didn’t have a great feel with her putter — she kept missing everything to the right — she didn’t let it weigh on her mentally. She kept hitting beautiful drives and towering iron shots, hitting the correct side of the green and rarely putting much stress on her short game. You can make a real case this is the most disciplined she’s ever looked in a major." - @KVanValkenburg on Nelly Korda's dominant win at the Chevron Championship (Photo Courtesy: LPGA/Getty Images)

@O_Jay1105 @PuckExpertise69 @worldhockeyrpt yup like if they call no goal, then there would a chance it stand, just imagine your team falling in this situation and us as oilers fan have the reason to be ???? with the ref’ing even i think its in, but rule said cant call a goal then smh they call it a goal

@PuckExpertise69 @worldhockeyrpt Looks like it but can’t 100% tell the call on the ice shouldn’t have been a good goal because the refs were not in position, and that + inconclusive, should’ve been called no goal

There are going to be some crazyyyyy conversations about this tomorrow across hockey media. It’s easy to guess that it completely crossed the goal line, but there’s definitely no way you can tell for sure based on Jarry’s skate.

@Theregimentfc @cecidrais i mean average 3.75 goal / game in playoff is up the level, 29 was great in first 3 game tho, 97 agree but he turned back a bit. like imagine score 3-4 goals a game and still lose… fire everything🫩

@gzrogue @ConnorAndrews @N9Lopez @EdmontonOilers @sentinelstorage first, they said no goal, then a goal, and once you know, they CHANGED the call and make it impossible to overturn, they dont ned to make a call to review it, because Ducks def challenge that. This is a situation,if they call it no goal, it would be tough to overturn (50/50)
