KAROLINE LEAVITT: “Iran has been defeated. Any violence beyond this point will be because Iran refused to understand they have already been defeated.” It’s like punching a kid on the playground and telling him that if he retaliates, you’ll tell the teacher he started it.

@colonelhogans @juliasilvertop Absolutely. Sorry, but we're a nation of whingers. Act like selfish boofheads & then blame the govt cos..... stuff. Aust'ns greedily rort at every opportunity then blame govt for 'making them do it' while ironically punching down on welfare recipients in genuine need. Sh1theads.

Since Barnaby Joyce joined One Nation, the party qualifies for a boost in funding. This includes an extra $100,000 of your money, every year going directly into Pauline Hanson’s pocket. One small problem… Pauline Hanson’s attendance rate at Parliament is only 53%.

I'd like to remind #auspol of this. Murdoch's James Campbell acknowledged then OL Shorten's promise if elected, then proceeded to tear him down (along with many of his colleagues). So I ask you, who should really be blamed for our low fuel reserves?

Australia might still be the world's best place to live but we're letting ourselves down big time. Four weeks into the Iran war: 10% of our servos wholly or partially out of fuel. 30% of farmers worried they lack the diesel to sow or harvest their crops. Flights being cancelled. No Australian-flagged fleet of tankers that could be tasked with a fuel rescue mission; with no naval ships capable of helping to break any Iranian blockade; and with no Australian air power yet despatched to the Middle East to help the US-Israel campaign against an apocalyptic theocracy, even though the Straits will never be secure while it lasts. Successive governments convinced themselves that an 'unstoppable green energy transition' meant access to fossil fuels was neither necessary nor desirable. That was always a fantasy, and now we're paying the price. Fossil fuels are still responsible for 90% of our energy needs. The Bondi massacre was a wake up call on social cohesion. The Iran war is a wake up call on national resilience. Dealing with both means recovering the self-belief needed for Australia to stay Australian. Time to face facts on energy. @TonyHWindsor @FriendsoftheABC My main concern is, as it has been for yonks, that he appears to skirt the Charter re impartiality regularly. Seems that week after week he does this. If he's on the national broadcaster (that I listen to almost constantly), it should be adhered to by all presenters. Full stop.

Turned on our ABC to have a listen to whatever Macca wad saying. First thing I heard him say was to call Paul Keating “expletive expletive deleted (smug chuckle)” Turned it off. Seriously. Does the ABC Charter just straight up not apply to this guy? @FriendsoftheABC

Chris Bowen says he's done. Australians say they're done, done with unaffordable fuel, done with empty bowsers, done with excuses. Minister, stop pointing fingers and start getting the fuel where it is most needed.

One woman is killed a week in 🇦🇺 from domestic violence and this magot has not only never condemned that but shockingly blamed women for "making up" allegations. This evil hag is not only owned by fossil fuel but also by the misogynistic patriarchy.

Absolute humiliation for Trump. A national security expert points out Trump is desperately trying to negotiate the exact same Iran nuclear deal he ripped up in 2018. The US literally went to war just to get back to the agreement they already had. Total incompetence.

Andrew Hastie says he’s critical of the war on Iran… Speers “So you can’t support this war…?” Hastie ‘No no, if I have I choose, of course I choose to support it’ “Don’t get me wrong here!” Relax Andy, we didn’t doubt your support for an illegal war for a second.🙄 #auspol

Aussies pay $8B in alcohol excise every year (beer $2.7B alone) — direct tax on every drink. Meanwhile, gas giant Santos paid just US$17m (A$26m) Australian corporate income tax in 2024 on hundreds of millions profit — near 0% effective rate after deductions. (They paid more in royalties/PRRT, but still low corporate tax for years.) One company digs up & sells our resources… yet drinkers often pay more tax per slab than these giants pay in company tax.

Why do conservatives promote retaining policies from the past like fossil fuel energy & control of women yet they're happy to throw classic literature, jobs for people over robotics, ethical norms of govt in the bin? What really motivates them?

Can someone explain to me like I'm a 5 year old, why Trump is not/cannot be impeached? Not only is he the laughing stock of the world but he is an unhinged psycho megalomaniac who sacrifices so many lives & a serious threat to the world. 😳 Anyone? 😣 #ImpeachTrump #Nuclear

This coffee was $8 in 2019. Now it’s pushing $16. That’s not “normal inflation.” That’s a weaker dollar, higher energy costs, broken supply chains and policy failure all hitting your grocery bill at the same time. You don’t need a chart, you can see how bad our government is every time you visit Coles.

@sunflow15685280 Bc I found myself working under narcissistic leadership, I did some reading on the topic. Basically, the only thing motivating ethical leadership is the leader themselves wanting to be ethical. There are no regulations that will contain toxic personalities or save their victims.

@sunflow15685280 The world is being run by narcissists. For some reason being a good person, kind, truthful, became unfashionable. Looking after others seen as weakness. We've binned humanity for what? What is to be gained? Communities need to flex self detetmination & ditch toxic leadership.

@barbecuarea Thought as much. It's why Trump was able to have an influence on it. Yep, the system was made to protect the rich, powerful & corrupt, clearly. Unless that changes, not much will change regardless who gets in.
