@AbdiwahabSheik7 A former KGB intelligence officer once said the Mossad is the most sophisticated intel org on the planet, because it has “Arab nationals on its ranks.” This explains the reality.

Israel is not just targeting Iran, They are exposing it. Announcing the death of their leaders before Iran confirms them, that show total intelligence control. If this is Iran’s reality today, what about the rest of Arab world? This is bigger than one country. This is a warning to the Ummah!!

@EylonALevy Choices have consequences. Netanyahu should have considered this before waging unprovoked war against other people, putting the lives and properties of Israelis in deep jeopardy. Peace is elusive until one respects his/her neighbour’s sovereignty and security.

@FaqiAlis What do you mean by “national consensus?” What constitutes consensus? If you are chairman of 10 people, what would consensus mean to you? Getting everyone to vote yes? What happens if 7 of them vote “yes” and the remaining 3 vote “no.” I think we have misused the word.

UNBIASED ANALYSES In a fragile federal system like Somalia, changes to the constitution are always sensitive. When such changes are introduced without broad agreement, they can easily create political tension and uncertainty. My observations focus on several issues that could become sources of disagreement. One concern is the shift toward a stronger presidential system. This change places more authority in the hands of the president while reducing the influence of the Prime Minister and parliament. Another issue relates to the balance of power between the federal government and the regional states. It seems that the amendments give more power to central government, potentially weakening the position of the federal member states. The proposal to move toward direct national elections has also sparked debate. While many people support the idea of one-person-one-vote elections, there are questions about whether the country currently has the security conditions, administrative capacity, and political agreement required to carry them out. There are also concerns about the reduced role of the Prime Minister, the independence of the Constitutional Court, and the way the amendments themselves were passed, with critics arguing that the process did not involve enough consultation or national consensus.

The “peace President” and Chairman of the “Board of Peace.” By the end of your term, how much debt will you leave with Americans who are struggling to meet basic needs? Americans are servicing wars fought on behalf of “others” who’ve dried the American purse for centuries.
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

The United States has spent EIGHT TRILLION DOLLARS fighting and policing in the Middle East. Thousands of our Great Soldiers have died or been badly wounded. Millions of people have died on the other side. GOING INTO THE MIDDLE EAST IS THE WORST DECISION EVER MADE.....

@jkenney You must be naive, Jason. If Ukraine has anything to offer , I think it would win the war and regain the territories it lost to Russia. Mr Zelensky is always seen crying for western help which has not been forthcoming. You remember how Trump humiliated him in the WH?

Thank-you to President Zelensky for offering Ukraine’s help and expertise to the US & other allies re: cutting edge technology to defend against UAV attacks. Even though Ukraine is fighting for its life, it is showing how friends & allies must stand together to defeat tyranny & aggression! #SlavaUkraïni

@afyare_elmi With all due respect and humility, I don’t think we can apportion blame squarely on the FGS for the collapse of the talks. The opposition politicians do have a great deal of the blame—they’re setting unnecessary preconditions to the talks. There can never be 100% consensus!

I have argued in my previous writings that #Somalia’s government has never been serious about reaching a substantive agreement with the opposition regarding the 2026 dispensation. Instead, it has focused on performative politics and public relations exercises, lacking meaningful policies or actions to address the political stalemate and the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the country. Since its unilateral decision to create a new constitution in 2024, the real intention of Villa Somalia has been a power grab disguised as "one person, one vote." The government aimed to set the election rules, appoint the commissioners who oversee the process, and play the game simultaneously. This plan has not succeeded. Under pressure from the international community and in response to the opposition's communiqué from Kismayo, the government called for dialogue, expecting the opposition to refuse on the grounds that the forum, agenda, and process were predetermined. To the surprise of many, the opposition accepted the invitation. Villa Somalia then changed the terms regarding security arrangements, prompting further intervention from the international community. When the opposition arrived, additional roadblocks were created, leading to the collapse of the talks. Unfortunately, it is now clear that the government is dismantling the pillars of the fragile political settlement and further polarizing an already divided political class. This is again proving the poor political skills of country’s leaders. If this trajectory continues, it risks leaving the country without a government that has a mandate or political direction. Amid a humanitarian catastrophe and a changing world, this is dangerous. Before it is too late and before more external pressures, President @HassanSMohamud must revert to the agreed political settlement, ensure consensus on the 2026 transition, and secure that implementation begins before May 2026.

@MrDuqa @Gobanimodoon252 @M_Farmaajo @abdihersy If you truly care about the president's legacy and believe he did something good, you should have advised him to establish a foundation that would benefit the country and people and live on even after he's gone. Kenya Launches Judge Phoebe Okowa’s Candidature for Full ICJ Term The State Department of Foreign Affairs has formally launched the candidature of Judge Phoebe Okowa for election to a full nine-year term at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for the 2027–2036 period, reaffirming the country’s commitment to a strong, inclusive, and rules-based international legal order. The launch event, held in Nairobi last evening, brought together members of the diplomatic corps, senior government officials, members of the judiciary, and representatives of international legal institutions. It followed Judge Okowa’s successful election in November 2025 to fill a casual vacancy on the Court. Speaking during the reception, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Korir Sing’Oei, described Judge Okowa’s election as a milestone achievement for Kenya, Africa, and the international legal community. He noted that her presence on the world’s highest court reflects decades of distinguished service as a scholar, legal practitioner, advisor to States, and advocate of multilateralism. @Mohameddharoor @HESaidADeni His decision to cut ties with FGS was not in the interest of Puntland but rather served only him, his close family, and his business interests. He doesn't care about the children missing school because his kids are in the best schools outside Puntland anyway.

Why did Puntland stay outside the national political process for 3.5 years? @HESaidADeni accepted the National Dialogue (Madal Qaran) without a constitutional amendment, yet our children missed education, the health system was affected, and the state’s stability declined.

@mlibax @RAbdiAnalyst You will be "unrecognized" as long as you have no seat or membership in the United Nations—statehood ultimately hinges on that. You can be "recognized" by as many as 200 sovereign states, but never achieve statehood. That's the difference. Look at Sahrawi, Taiwan, Kosovo, etc.

In 2005, the AU sent a fact-finding mission to Somaliland. The briefing by the AU team of experts is the most honest and fairest assessment of Somaliland's case ever written by any multilateral. One passage stands out: "The fact that the "union between Somaliland and Somalia was never ratified" and also malfunctioned when it went into went into action from 1960 to 1990, makes Somaliland's search for recognition historically unique and self-justified in African political history. Objectively viewed, the case should not be linked to the notion of "opening a Pandora’s box". As such, the AU should find a special method of dealing with this outstanding case."
