There's a physicist at Stanford named Safi Bahcall who modeled this exact principle and the math is wild. He calls it "phase transitions in human networks." When you're stationary, your probability of a lucky event is limited to your existing surface area: the people you already know, the places you already go, the ideas you've already been exposed to. Your opportunity window is fixed. When you move, your collision rate with new nodes in a network increases nonlinearly. Double your movement (new conversations, new cities, new projects) and your probability of a serendipitous encounter doesn't double. It roughly quadruples. Because each new node connects you to their entire network, not just to them. Richard Wiseman ran a 10-year study at the University of Hertfordshire tracking self-described "lucky" and "unlucky" people. The single biggest differentiator wasn't IQ, education, or family money. Lucky people scored significantly higher on one trait: openness to experience. They talked to strangers more, varied their routines more, and said yes to invitations at nearly twice the rate. The "unlucky" group followed the same routes, ate at the same restaurants, and talked to the same 5 people. Their networks were closed loops. No new inputs, no new collisions. Luck isn't random. Luck is surface area. And surface area is a function of movement. The lobster emoji is doing more work than most people realize. Lobsters grow by shedding their shell when it gets too tight. The growth requires a period of total vulnerability. No protection, no armor, soft body exposed to the ocean. That's the cost of movement nobody posts about. You have to be uncomfortable first. The new shell only hardens after you've already moved.

I went from performance marketer → growth → biz dev → new business → head of marketing → founder in 7 years. It's easy, roles are just labels. The actual work is understanding problems, then executing.

Buraya eklemek istediğim bir nokta daha var. Bunu sadece satın almışların datasıyla değil çok daha geniş bir şekilde siteye gelmiş herkesin datası ile de yapmak mümkün. Şu an markalar sitesine gelenlerin %40-60'ını takip bile edemiyor.

reklam bütçenizi çöpe atıyorsunuz. net söylüyorum. geçen bi e-ticaret sitesiyle toplantıdayım. ayda 200 bin tl reklam veriyorlar. dönüşüm %0.5 bile değil. hedef kitle kim dedim. işte şunlar şunlar. lafın sonu "herkes" noktasına geldi. herkes diye bir hedef kitle yok. herkes kimse demek aslında. parayı sokağa saçmak bu. oturdum bilgisayarın başına. geçen sene alışveriş yapmış 1000 kişinin datasını çektim. excele attım. sonra claudea yükledim. dedim ki bana bu insanları grupla. 3 saniye sürdü. adamların 3 tip müşterisi varmış. indirim bekleyenler, yeni sezon hastaları, sadece hediye alanlar. adama döndüm sen hepsine aynı reklamı gösteriyorsun dedim. şok oldu. hemen 3 farklı strateji kurduk. indirimciye %20 fırsat, yenilikçiye ilk sen gör, hediye alana paketleme bizden dedik. bütçeyi de üçte birine düşürdük. sonuç ne oldu biliyor musun. ciro 4 katına çıktı. reklam maliyeti düştü. yapay zeka dediğin şey resim çizdirmek değil sadece. asıl olay bu. veri analizi. sen oturup 1000 satır excel okuyamazsın. ama ai okur. sana bu adam bunu alır der. dijital pazarlama artık tahmin etme işi değil. bilme işi. veriyi kullanmıyorsan kumar oynuyorsun demektir. ve kasa her zaman kazanır. yani google ve meta kazanır. sen kaybedersin. hedeflemeyi yapay zekaya bırak. her şeyi ona yaptır demiyorum. analizi ona yaptır. stratejiyi o veriden çıkar. sen yöneten beyin ol. yoksa reklamlar çok pahalılandı diye yakınmaya devam edersin. pahalı değil. sen yanlış kişiye satmaya çalışıyorsun. kelin yanında tarak satılmaz. doğru kişiyi bul. gerisi kolay.

@canvardar %100 agree. There's a huge hype, I can understand why. I cant stop watching it every week, but it's losing its momentum

this show feels like it’s heading toward cancellation and i say that as someone actually watching it the plot isn’t going anywhere meaningful, episodes 2–7 move painfully slow, and once momentum dies this early it’s hard to recover. i get Gilligan’s style, i’ve seen Breaking Bad and its spin-offs, but this is my genuine take beautiful cinematography and shots though. i just hope it doesn’t end up like Jason Momoa’s See

‘PLURIBUS’ has become Apple TV’s most watched show ever. Season 2 is already greenlit.

At Hardal, we want to build something useful, teach people about better measurement, and help companies manage their data properly. We believe that it's important to understand the difference between a goal and an expectation +

Most AI insights are wrong. Not because they're not working correctly, but because the data you're feeding is not right. The ideal method would be: your first-party data → directly into Claude/ChatGPT→ actual insights.

@benjaminprinter Agree, our platform reached $500k ARR with mostly outreach and partnerships. We were creating content but irregularly. Now starting with ads.

This is the perfect recipe for getting fucked and staying broke It makes zero mathematical sense We booked 30+ calls last week for a $15K-$20K offer using nothing but LinkedIn DMs With zero “daily content” or “brand consistency” bs Just pure outbound doing what outbound does : Creating money ex nihilo The idea that you can't run ads or outreach if you don’t have content going out daily is completely backwards It assumes content is some kind of prerequisite for distribution But content amplifies what already exists It doesn’t create revenue Outbound is the only real generator Let’s run actual numbers, because math doesn’t lie : If you send 200 LinkedIn DMs per day With a realistic 3% reply rate and a conservative 20% call booking rate from replies That’s 1.2 calls a day, or 36 calls/month With a 15% close rate, that’s 5.4 clients/month Even if your offer was only $5K, that’s $27K/month If your offer is $15K, that’s $80K/month And that entire system works perfectly even if you NEVER post a single piece of content Meanwhile, content, especially when you’re starting from zero, has a 90-180 day maturity window You can post every day for four months and barely generate 5 calls total Content compounds slowly Outbound generates cash tomorrow morning That’s why creators with 200K followers are dead broke while operators with 200 good outbound messages a day quietly print $30K-$100K/month The funniest part is when people say “but the leads won’t trust you without content” That’s complete fiction When someone receives a message saying “we just increased X firm’s origination capacity by $900K/month” Or “we helped a fund structure their cap raising pipeline and they closed their first $5M in 60 days” They don’t give a shit if you posted a motivational quote this morning They book because the value prop and the math make sense If you actually listen to the “don’t do outreach until you post daily content” advice, you’d delay revenue by an entire quarter Three months × the minimum $30K/month you COULD have made with cold DMs = $90,000 burned because some Twitter moron told you to wait until your brand aesthetic was polished Cashflow you could use to hire, scale, run ads if you want, build infrastructure, or ironically fund a content operation later The correct hierarchy is simple : Outbound feeds you Content amplifies what you’re already doing You don’t wait for content to start moving You start moving, and content becomes a byproduct of the motion Anyone telling you to wait for content before doing outreach is giving you advice that gets you financially fucked Chronically behind Permanently dependent on algorithms And locked in a 6 month waiting period before ever making your first dollar
