I'm so blessed that I got bookings for 1000 people to dine at my non-halal restaurant on the auspicious day of Eid 🙃 All fake bookings 😂

It is unforgivable what politicians have done to this country. They are backing people into a corner and it will not end well. People will rise up and when they do, they will be severely punished and their lives further ruined. This is all on the political elite. It is shameful. It makes me angry, sad and desperately worried for the future😔

ITV’s Friday Night racing morphing into a Love Island soggy spinoff is enough for me to switch to the Olympic Opening Ceremony. Seriously, what utter TV tosh…

@JohnSunCricket Disgraceful decision and the ECB are just as culpable in agreeing to it. May as well organise have a back up T20 when it finishes in 3 days to celebrate the occasion. Clowns.

@Harry05Derham @RacingHOTSR Devastated for you and the team. Was at Kempton and watched you rush to get to your stricken horse , that’s not always the case with trainers and I respect you enormously for doing so.

An utterly miserable day at Kempton Park today losing Wertpol who we only had the good fortune of having in our yard for a short period of time. He was a bright talent who was fresh and happy doing his work everyday, often playing around and expressing himself. He loved his job and I am so sad for his Heart of the south syndicate, who are the most wonderful group of people. Racing at times can at times be a painful sport and today has been a tough day for a number of connections. A day to forget.

@UpTheOrder @TheBarmyArmy Not a ringer as Archie played for us in the Bashes on the 17/18 tour at Middle Park. We spot talent early at the Barmy Army!!

@TheBarmyArmy As ringers go that’s a good one. Ask him if he will be available for a few Sunday league games next season please.

@stephenbrenkley Totally agree, let’s just write off 150 years of history and signal the last rites for the great game of test cricket.

After the MCG two-day debacle I’d have thought the Aussie board would revise their decision, preposterous in the first place, to make the 150th anniversary Test in March 2027 a day-night match. They should backtrack immediately if they truly wish to mark a historical event.

Delighted to have had the Beverley House Stables Partnership’s #Merrijig land a thrilling win in the 2-mile handicap here @NewcastleRaces under a perfectly-judged ride from @GinaMangan7. Turned a damp, cold, grey day into a lovely day!

@CollingsBerry Great article. I travelled from Woking and your yard was top of my list with Dereham, Cloudy Rose and Double Meaning being my 3 favourite horses. At 58 and still working, I go racing 30+ times/year and enjoy the small tracks as much as my Sandown annual m’ship.

I wrote this to try to banish my own blues about too many bad-news stories. The good news is that going racing is still great, any day of the week, almost anywhere in the world. thoroughbreddailynews.com/op-ed-some-rea…
