It’s just really sad, man. I’ve gone through stages of pissed off, angry, disappointed but it ends at sad. Sad for the guys who’ve given their all to the program and sad for the coaches who have done the same. We all thought this was the year but you can’t blame us when all the players and coaches did too.
Purdue has never faced preseason #1 scrutiny in its program’s history before so, sure, that played a role.
23-8 is one helluva season without context. 23-8 is one helluva season when you’re given context that this is the best CBB has been in decades. And, of course it is. Any other diehard Purdue fan would tell you “of course it is, that’s just Purdue’s luck.” And there’s something to that. Idk how we’re cursed (maybe BB?) but we are.
23-8 as preseason #1 is a failure, fair or not. It is. And, again, these weren’t expectations just from the fans. To be fair to everyone, no one could’ve guessed all the makeshift teams would fire on all cylinders - which they have to this point. That had to be pretty demoralizing, especially when exhibit A was the illegally tampered with, put together, gleague all star team your own conference.
With all that said, the year isn’t over. You saw the switch flipped last March (idc who Purdue beat) with its D. Purdue has a better team now. There are no excuses to not at least make the 2nd weekend. None. And again, without context, that would be a successful season.
Look at the BTT bracket rn. Purdue will either get IU for the third time or NW for the second time. Purdue and Indiana have never played in the BTT. I couldn’t think of a better way to catapult this team into March than dumptrucking iu into their 8th NIT this decade. After that likely comes Michigan State.
You don’t have to be preseason #1 to make it to Saturday, man. That is not a bad draw at all. One win, you’re most likely a 3-seed in March. Win both games and Purdue’s locked into a 3. For the thousandth time - without context, that’s a great season.
I went 4.5 years at Purdue and was ready to gtfo midway through my last semester. I really hope that’s not how the players feel but none of us will know that - no other PU team has ever faced this much pressure.
If you’re looking for BB’s patented coping, I’m glad you made it this far.
This is about a 1%-5% chance of being right but if I’m good at anything it’s coping.
Remember all the preseason interviews? The players never made reference to the reg szn and never had to answer a question about it. Whether the team went 23-8 in the regular season or 31-0 simply would not matter right now beyond seeding. The players, specifically Braden Smith, repeatedly said they/he does not care about individual accolades. He and TKR said that multiple times coming into the year. You can’t tell me TKR didn’t sacrifice for the team to peak in March I.e giving up shots he had as a junior to 3 new players all year to get them tuned up for March. Instead of scoring, he destroyed the glass - what the team needed most. My point being, i believe they were telling the truth. They care about the natty and final 4 so much more.
Sucks for 4 months being a fan but no one can fault them for putting the tournament above all else. It’s what they were all going to be judged on no matter what happened Nov-Feb.
The switch you saw flipped in Nov, @ bama, @ NEB, 29 pt drubbing of iu still exists.
The defense absolutely cannot be as bad as we’ve seen. Right? There are multiple games this year when the defense showed up. TTU, bama, Nebraska, @ wisky, for four.
If the players and coaches have been playing chess all year with its defense in the B10 I’d believe it - it’s been that bad.
We will find that out soon. All I know is I will always go down with the ship. I still have hope, albeit a glimmer. Get out of the most rugged conference in bball and see what happens. Purdue’s offense is peaking. I pray to God they find something on D. All we need to do to make a run is care about D.

@PurdueBballGuy SEC bruh. Gotta have one of them get a great seed!

A lot of folks really high on Florida. Maybe rightfully so. But who have they beaten? Vanderbilt? They’ve lost 6 of 12. Kentucky? They’ve lost 4 of 8.
They lost to Auburn at home by 9. Auburn lost to Purdue Arizona and Michigan by 30 each. Auburns lost 6 of 7.
Florida has two losses to 50+ ranked kenpom teams.
Idk I haven’t seen enough to buy the hype

@DrInsensitive Hey, my dental office has outSTANDING infection control!
English

Did you ever wonder why every left-wing social media platform banned users for repeating the lab-leak theory? Was it really that important to protect the Chinese reputation?
Of course Fauci was trying to cover his ass, because he funded the creation of civilization-ending viruses in Chinese labs with the infection control of a dentist's office.
But why did the social media platforms help him?
Maybe they did it because of that graph we've all seen: The Right allows ideological diversity, while the Left demands conformity.
Smart politicians understood they could create a "Lab-leak theory is racist" narrative that every leftist would embrace, on pain of cancellation.
But on such a consequential issue, many republicans would loudly reject such an obvious lie.
(The outbreak started two miles from the world's premier coronavirus lab that was working on creating exactly that virus. Leftists were willing to ignore that, because they always go along with the mob. Right-wingers won't ignore it.)
Which gave the left-wing social media platforms a convenient excuse to deplatform republicans before the election.

Six years ago today, a truly shocking incident occurred that disgraces the name of science. A dozen scientists shared the view that Covid started with a laboratory experiment. So they met online to discuss how to mislead the world into thinking the opposite.

I see your point. I don't know how much of a role she played in the original trilogy, Jurassic Park, etc., so I'll just be nice and assume there was some good. She should be praised for the good she did, whatever that was, & I chose to move on from the bad. Hopefully star Wars has a bright future!

Kathleen Kennedy on the low point of her time as Lucasfilm President
“The lows are that you’ve got a very, very small percentage of the fan base that has enormous expectations and basically they want to continue to see pretty much the same thing. And if you’re not going to do that, then you know going in that you’re going to disappoint them. I’m not sure there’s anything you can do about that, because you can’t please everybody.”
