He’s 36, and getting run into the ground every single week. I know some people laughed at the Scotland thing, but even if it’s a 1% chance elsewhere it’s better than 0% with us. He’s a proud Scottish man, and a World Cup with them is the pinnacle. He owes #SWFC nothing.

There’ll be plenty said on Bannan, but leaving #SWFC is absolutely the right thing for him - as sad as that might be… Not only has he got no certainty over his future, and earning a fraction of what he *should* be, but this season is also probably shaving years off his career.

Some ramblings on the situation at Sheffield Wednesday. I'm not having a go at anyone. But I want to put my view out. And I hope this can be taken with calm and without jumping on any "side". We've all got to try and make this situation work. I always thought it would be difficult for SWFC to find a buyer as we are not that much of an attractive proposition. Whilst we have found 3 that are bidding, it has not transcended into the war of the rich many had hoped for. The level to provide 25p in the £ means we are not value for money. Expectations have been raised far too high. But also, and this is something I find very strange, after an initial drive for match tickets and purchasing, this was called off and it was announced that we had enough money to satisfy operations. Which conflicts with a report that we've taken a secured loan, interest free, from a fan. We had to continue to showcase the potential of the club with match attendances and purchases. On the raising of expectation, I'm not sure it is ITK accounts, or, I'll just say it, Symon, as Symon always said it would be hard for us to find a sugar daddy buyer. And we need to be more realistic. Symon and i are fiends, I've disagreed with Symon on many things over the years, but raising of expectations can't be laid at his door. It has been popular accounts who are not ITK that have raised expectation - from what I can see. On the administrators. And I know this is a contentious subject. But I will brave this. They have made mistakes, from my fan view, not from an ITK position. 1) not continuing the drive for attendances and purchasing and showcasing our worth to buyers. 2) publicly announcing internal deadlines that has created a vacuum of false information when this passed. Causing friction within the fanbase. With January around the corner and I am sceptical as to how much income is funding operation. What I think we need to do 1) drive the fans back to Hillsborough and get back to pushing purchasing. 2) put out factual Comms, but the admins need to stop this PR tour of forums and saying too much. We don't need to know information on the internal process or what deadlines you are setting within the process. Just facts. Other than that, let's stop the noise and giving a reason for fans to argue. Finally, I think this is a case where the EFL need to regulate conflicts of interest relating to administrators and clubs. Whilst it looks good from the outside, I am not sure a SWFC leading the admin is the right thing to do. Nothing fraudulent being suggested here. Just a risk of advocacy, where a person has interests within a subject. I work in finance and I would not be able to do any work for Sheffield Wednesday as it would impair my objectivity. I think that KW wanted to please the fanbase with excess Comms and PR. And I dont think this has been positive. On Mike Ashley, it isn't the worst. Yes he's going to look to make a buck. But to do that he has to invest. Buying the club between 20-35m. Funding year 1 operations. Over 5 years he will have spent at least 100m on us. Possible much, much more..for Ashley to sell us and make the 200m he wants, he will have to make significant investment in us.. I'm happy with, or let's say, content with this. Wednesday fans, we need to lower our expectations now. We're in a mess, barely cat 2 academy. Ground is barely operable. Massive overheads and non football operation costs. Time for everyone to just be sensible..admins get back to doing the basics of driving revenue and being objective. And for a lot of the noise to stop until the sale is complete.

If they overperform it grows the positive sum, the same as a stock? When I strike that bet, if I think Lpools true % is 30%, is this not ‘wealth creation’?

@FootballGod247 @jasontrost Not true. Stocks are equity. They are issued by companies. They have a fundamental value based on the performance of the company. As the company grows it is positive sum.

Sports betting and trading are converging because they’ve always been the same. Both deploy risk capital on uncertain outcomes. Both rely on information to set prices. Most participants lose net of fees. We called one “investing” and the other “betting.” That was always a cultural difference, not a structural one.
