@BrigidLaffan Looking through tinted glass, who says we must export most our produce to be prosperous for the most amount of people in the country. Maybe a smaller pie but better shared.

We have a major challenge in Ireland-90% of what we produce is exported. Our prosperity is dependent on the world beyond. Yet we frequently behave as if we are in full control. We have a localised political culture but a highly globalised economy. And we have a narrow tax base.

@paulmurphy_TD Why should #Ireland be in such a rush. Alright lets head in that direction and reduce fossil fuels but please explain what the crazy time frames, unachievable targets, tax, and regulations do. What are the projected outcomes? It won't save the world. So what does it do exactly?

These tax cuts still don't provide any certainty for people because there are no price controls. They also don't break from reliance on fossil fuels. But militant action has won concessions. A lesson that should now be acted on. thejournal.ie/fuel-package-p…

@MichealMartinTD What are the outcomes from Net Zero in #Ireland? How will it improve climate predictions? Why by 2050? Why not realistic goals aimed at 2100? What is your grounds for any carbon tax or regulation? No model seems to warrant Net Zero or activist classes for our kids.

We recognise and understand the pressures that have arisen due to rising fuel costs on all families and businesses. I am very conscious that we must support people, protect key services and make critical investments. This package is a significant response to real pressures.

@rtenews Dont take it. Long term, you will be screwed. If you ever speak out again, it will be used to divide the country. You will be painted as full of **** and out for yourselves. That possiblity has, 100%, already been spoken about behind closed doors. 🐍🐍🐍

@MichealLehane If the government has set this up to only benefit one group, it is so they can divide against that group later. You will be screwed on the deal and when you try to protest again, they will twist this against you. DONT TAKE IT.

Completely agree Helen, what kind of state sends in the military against peaceful protesters? I couldn’t imagine living somewhere like that. Very worrying behaviour in a democracy. Solidarity.
Helen McEntee TD@HMcEntee

I’ve seen so much footage of armed military in the US attacking peaceful protestors. It’s upsetting, it’s infuriating, its hard to watch but we must, people need to see what’s happening. #GeorgeFloyd dying before our eyes should be a wake up call for all of us #blacklivesmatter

@TheAkoFiles Except in the US they were not for the most part peaceful. We forgetting all the riots etc. Tim and Omar were going full revolutionary to hide the fraud. The politics our politicians support is frightening

@LaobhaoiseNihE You think the protests are the fault of the citizens? That €1.20 on every €2 does not bother or affect you. Plenty of people dont drive the car because of cost. Old men and woman who can't keep on the heat. These peoole are not out every week crying. You still blame them.

Disgraceful carry on, No person in Ireland has the permission to decide who travels & who doesn't. People have the right to protest, but you don't have the right to intimidate & harass drivers going about their daily business. Well done to An Garda Síochána #fuelprotest
An Garda Síochána@GardaTraffic

An Garda Síochána is aware of alleged intimidation and harassment of drivers of trucks and fuel tankers going about their lawful business. This is unacceptable. This is not protest. This is criminal activity. An Garda Síochána will investigate all complaints received!

@TheAkoFiles Ideologically and political policy wise, its hard to see how they are not worse for the country. Christian hating, gender fanatics, communist, Marxist, ... The politics in the country has been stitched up. #EU testing ground. Whats worse, we helped draw the goals.

What will a no confidence vote in the Irish government achieve? I agree that the current government is terrible, but I can’t see the likes of Sinn Fein, SocDems or PBP being any better. If anything they care less about the Irish.

@paulmurphy_TD We dont need the left, only one party has at least said the right things. Any party that believes in the "Trans Child" is a danger to your children. Any party that thinks #Ireland should continue Net Zero are lying manipulative thieves. If you think Trump is Hitler your an idiot

Thomas Byrne has done a damn lot more for people in Meath than Peadar Tóibín. Non Fianna Fáil voters consistently vote for Thomas too. That tells you all you need to know!
Niall Boylan@Niall_Boylan

I’ll tell you who @Toibin1 is. He’s a politician who cares about his constituents and fights with them, not against them. @ThomasByrneTD, you need to realise you work for the people and not for yourself. This protest has highlighted the incompetence of the leadership, and if you can’t see that, I pity your constituents.
