Those who fervently “criticize” a pastor, has is own crowd that fervently support him. So by your take he is both right and wrong… that is illogical and cannot be accepted.

I think they interpreted the prompt differently hilariously demonstrating the need for a 3rd party (noderator) to definitively decide what is meant by the words of the prompt Trent thought that you can trust Jesus will save you without actually obeying or doing what needs to be done for said saving. Like we have the sin of presumption as Catholics. I trust God will save me so I go ahead and do a sin knowing God will forgive me So that's trusting God will forgive yes but it's still sinful and disordered behavior. This actually pretty nuts to claim. @Trent_Horn says that the phrase “trusting in Christ” is a modern invention and that he’s only heard @needGod_net use the phrase. “Trust” has been used interchangeably with “believe” & “faith” since the beginning. Greek lexicons plainly state that word commonly used all throughout the NT for “believe” means “to trust.” This term is used over 200 times in the NT when describing our faith in Christ. Not to mention the church fathers who also used the phrase. ⬇️ “I, however, call on all who trust in Christ…” Basil the great This is a very common phrasing that God’s people have used from the beginning to describe their faith in God. We also see “trust” used in the Old Testament in this manner, too. I can’t help but think Trent is only making this claim so he can equivocate the term “believe” with mere intellectual assent, to make his argument easier to defend. I hope that isn’t the case.
