You aren't depressed—your gut is cooked. There are literally TRILLIONS of living bacteria inside of you right now—all influencing the way you think, act and look (gut-brain connection). If they are imbalanced, your life will mirror this. Anxious thoughts. Brain fog. Low motivation. Bloated face. Learn to balance the microbiome, and you change your life. Here's how (full guide): 1. Nail the basics Mastering your gut microbiome is highly personal. However, there are universal habits you should be implementing: - chew food 25+ times per bite - eat in a parasympathetic state - don't overeat - 4-5 hours between meals, no food 3 hours before bed - nail your circadian rhythm + sleep - avoid processed foods & seed oils - eat an animal-based diet & dont overconsume raw vegetables - get enough sea salt & minerals daily - get direct sunlight on the stomach daily Once this is covered, now we can get into the SAUCE 2. Look for symptoms of gut imbalance (dysbiosis): - appearance: water retention, puffy face, persistent acne, dark eyebags - very strong sugar cravings - stubborn belly fat - never fully satisfied after meals - very white-coated tongue/bad breath - brain fog & poor mood, anxiety - stool health: irregular, poorly formed, constipation - digestion: abnormal bloating, gas If you have 2+ of these, there is work to be done. That brings us to the next step... 3. Get a GI Map This is a stool test that shows you the balance of your gut. You'll be able to observe any bacterial overgrowths and the structural health of your gut as well. 4. Create your protocol Based on your GI map, create a personalized antimicrobial protocol if overgrowths are present. The exact protocols to use will vary a lot from person to person, but some great antimicrobials to use include: - MCT oil - Blackseed oil - Pomegranate husk - Oil of Oregano - Berberine - Neem - Allicin/Garlic - Clove Each has slightly different use cases depending on your severity. Protocols are implemented anywhere from 6-20 weeks, always taking breaks and cycling antimicrobials. Once antimicrobials are implemented, it's then important to consider using BINDERS (to soak up inflammatory endotoxins produced by overgrowths) Great binders include: - activated charcoal - enterosgel - bentonite clay - modified citrus pectin - apple pectin - PHGG Take 1-2 hours away from food or supplements, and don't overdo these. 5. Nourish the gut From here, we must rebuild the gut. Implement the following practices to do this: - consume an abundance of bone broth, gelatin, and collagen-rich foods (like stews) - consume insoluble fibres daily (raw carrots, raspberries, bamboo shoots) - add fermented foods (if tolerated): goat kefir, raw sauerkraut, quality kombucha, homemade yogurts - consume resistant starches (cooked then cooled rice/potatoes are best) - consume lots of polyphenols: green tea, raw cacao, blueberries, pomegranate, raw honey - optimize bile flow: eat plenty of citrus, bitter greens, ACV before meals, consume enough fat, and supplement TUDCA or ox bile. - bonus: supplement with butyrate, supplement with lactoferrin, utilise oral peptides like bpc-157 or larazotide And thats it. This is just the surface, but if you implement it properly, you'll become a different person. Clearer. Leaner. More driven. To your evolution, Fred
