Black Hawk Down (2001) shows a realism that is frightening, the harshness of war at its maximum splendor, and a powerful portrayal of loyalty, unity, and teamwork.
The helicopters that appear in Black Hawk Down (2001) were not CGI. The United States Army provided real Black Hawks for the filming. Several of the pilots who flew in those scenes were veterans of the actual Battle of Mogadishu in 1993.
