I’m going to Chicago in two weeks and I need everyone to be real with me; is Giordano’s pizza worth the hype because I need to eat a deep dish at least one of the days I’m there

It's truly amazing how ideologically polarized the #Cuban "story" has become. On one side are those who cling to the idea that pre-1959 Cuba was a paradise with democracy, prosperity, & gold in the streets for everyone! And on the other side, Fidel was a revolutionary hero who did away with racism & economic deprivation and liberated Cubans from the grasp of the evil imperialists.... Maybe, hear me out, both images are WRONG. The history of #Cuba's relationship with the US is complex and needs to be viewed empirically & objectively. So too the legacy of Fidel & the revolution. As a Cuban-American, born on the island and raised in the United States, I reject the cartoonish characterizations of both pre- and post-1959 Cuba. As a US citizen, I am critical of my government and wish our foreign policy to be driven by rational/strategic considerations & respect for other people. As an ethnic Cuban, I wish my compatriots on the island had more opportunities & freedoms. I want regime change in #Cuba, but driven by Cubans on the island—not Miami! As a Cuban-American, I wish the two countries would engage with each other through mutual respect! Thank you for coming to my TED Talk!

Discovered a colleague dead of a myocardial infarction in his office. Everyone was very sympathetic about how awful it must have been for me. It was, but the worst was what I saw on his PC screen. I deleted his browser history and shut it down before the paramedics arrived.

*unmutes* “nothing from my end thanks”
