Let me share my opinion on the Islamic perspective to this. In Islam, every creation has a Ghayah (an ultimate end). This is why I argue that a child with a disability is not a biological error: they are also a purposeful creation. The first thing we look at is the biological timeline. Based on the words of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the soul is breathed into the body at 120 days. Before this mark, the fetus is a living entity but has not reached full legal personhood as a soul. If a medical board confirms a fatal condition that is incompatible with life, some scholars allow a choice for termination to avoid unbearable hardship. But once that 120 day mark passes, the child is a full citizen of this world. At that point, the move is no longer about a medical choice. It is about a commitment to a life that Allah has already decided to send. Again, we have to be very careful with how we categorize disability because not all conditions are the same. A fatal malformation such as anencephaly, where the child cannot survive outside the womb, is handled with a specific legal leniency before the soul is breathed in. However, for conditions that are life altering but sustainable, such as Down Syndrome or physical limb differences, the Islamic argument is one of patience (Sabr) and spiritual refinement. Allah says in the Quran that He created humans in the best of stature. This does not mean everyone has a perfect body or a high IQ. It means the design is perfect for that soul's specific journey and test. A child who may never commit a sin due to his/her incapacity or who requires constant care is a specialized mission from the Creator. Ibn al-Qayyim argued this in Miftah Dar al-Sa'adah that the existence of "deficiency" in the world is proof of the "Perfection" of the Creator. He made a profound intellectual point: if everything were perfect, we would never know what mercy, completeness, patience, or gratitude looked like. In this context, it forces the parents and the community to practice mercy (Rahmah) and humility. Again in Islam, there is a paradox in how we look at strength. While the world thinks a disabled child takes away your resources, the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us that victory and provision (Rizq) come because of the weak among us. That child might be the secret reason you have a job, health, wealth, or safety. They are not the ones dependent on you. You are the one dependent on the blessings that come with their presence in your home. If this happens to a Muslim, the next move for a father is to be the pillar (Qawwam) for his wife. He must ensure she feels no shame or guilt. He should realize he has been selected to raise a guest of Jannah. This is a promotion in rank, not a tragedy to be avoided. You are being asked to guard a soul that Allah specifically chose for your house. Your role is to accept the decree (Qadar) and prepare for a unique gate to Paradise that most people will never have the chance to enter. Allah knows best.

Guys, if doctor confirms that the baby your wife is carrying is coming with a disability, what is your next move. This post is strictly for survey on the point of view of fellow humans.

Really Ayo? And she bears my acronym o. The first part of your question is true. I agree, and I know you don’t, that’s why you framed the second. But let me help you understand and unravel the wisdom behind your assertions. First of all, native doctors are poor because juju is a parasitic scam that tries to shortcut the natural laws of provision. If they could command the unseen for profit, they would be sitting on boards of directors, not waiting in a corner for someone to drop a few notes. Their poverty is the physical evidence that they have no power over the Rizq (provision) of anyone, not even their own. They are selling a key that does not fit any lock. It is a psychological trap for the desperate. So, they are a scam. On the other hand, I see that you need to understand the wisdom behind why some people are poor while some are rich. In our tradition, there is a concept called Iradah Al-Kawniyyah Al-Qadriyyah. This is the Universal Will that relates to Decree. It is the divine blueprint of how the world functions. God in His Supreme Wisdom designed a world of contrast. There is light because there is dark, and there is wealth because there is poverty. If every single person were rich, the entire social fabric of the world would fall apart immediately. No one would harvest the food, no one would clean the streets, and no one would serve their neighbor. Interdependence is what makes us human and how we connect with each other. The rich need the poor, and the poor need the rich. Again, poverty and wealth are just different sets of exam questions. One tests your patience while the other tests your gratitude and your charity. Ayo, the suffering you see today is the friction that is required to refine the soul. A world without pain is a world where your character has no way to grow. You would just be a person in a story without a point. The presence of poverty is not a sign that God is weak. He is allowing the struggle so that the gold in your soul can be separated from the dirt. He is the one who balances the scales with a wisdom that goes way beyond our bank accounts. And remember, this life is just the first act of the play. The real justice and the payout for the struggle happen in the next life. So Ayo, permit me to say: Me: If the world had no struggle/poverty, we would be static objects instead of human beings with a purpose. Allah knows best.

Brothers planning to get married should please know and learn how Aqdun Nikkah is done in Islam to avoid stories that touch. I was at a friend's Nikkah today, and the whole event nearly ended without the actual solemnization of the Nikkah.

Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.

God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.

Hello Prince Adewale @Maya_leeke , I have been watching your tweets and your attacks on our faith lately on this app. Remember you had once tried to engage me by stalking me, and I used to ignore you. I did that deliberately. For the sake of people who may want to be deceived, let me make some explanations as a rebuttal. Prince Adewale is pushing a surface level narrative about Sharia without understanding how classical Islamic practice works. In Islamic law, the ruling on apostasy was never about someone changing their personal beliefs in the privacy of their bedroom. It was the historical equivalent of high treason. In the early days, Islamic societies were under constant military threat. Leaving the faith almost always meant defecting to the enemy army, leaking state secrets, and taking up arms against your own people. The penalty was for political and military betrayal. Even in the ancient world, religion and the state were tied together. If you lived in the Roman Empire or the Persian Empire and defected to their enemies, the penalty was death. In fact, in our Nigerian law, what happens if a Nigerian citizen renounces their allegiance to the country, crosses over to join an armed insurgency, leaks military intelligence, and starts fighting the Nigerian state? Can Nigeria accept that in the name of freedom of association? No. The constitution defines that as treason, and the penalty is death. The United States and every other nation on earth have severe penalties for treason and armed rebellion. In early Islamic history, the Muslim community was a new state fighting for its survival. So leaving the faith was a public defection to the hostile enemy camp. If it was just about changing religion, we would see a very different history. We have authentic records where people left Islam during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and they walked away freely. You can read the famous Hadith narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah in Sahih al-Bukhari, found in the Book of Virtues of Madinah. An unnamed Bedouin came to the Prophet (peace be upon him), he openly canceled his pledge of Islam, and walked right out of the city. Nobody touched him. Read that again. You cannot strip away the historical and political context of a law just to push a fearmongering agenda on Twitter. Prince Adewale, Be Warned.

Was in Qatar 🇶🇦 with my wife, so we stepped out of the hotel to explore the city at night. By the time we got to the cruise spot, only one boat was left cus others had already taken off. The owner said if I didn’t want to wait for more people, I could pay and have the whole boat to ourselves. So I went for it. We ended up cruising the night, blasting some dope music just me and my wife. He even let me drive the boat. After that, we took a long walk to find some Naija food 😍 That breeze 💯
