Try to wrap your mind around this: Algeria is preparing a ceasefire proposal for the UN Security Council. The US has already said it's going to veto it. 4 Months of nonstop televised slaughter, and the US will veto a ceasefire. Again. 4 Months of this, and the US will veto a ceasefire. 4 Whole months of what we've all been seeing and hearing and scarred and wounded us for the rest of our days, and the US will veto a ceasefire. Pardon my naivety, but I never fully grasped such evil even existed. This is organized evil on a scale we've only read about in books. If a new global consciousness doesn't arise from this, one of equality and freedom, I am not sure we deserve to survive as a species.

This atrocious from a man who is in the Lords, as with too many there, not based on merit. He incites violence. It is Islamophobic. He should be kicked out of the Lords for this. This sort of vile extremism should have no place in this country.

It is a measure of the depth of their ideological intransigence & tribal myopia that so many intelligent and typically empathic people have been incapable of grasping the simple truth that you can oppose both rising antisemitism AND anti-Muslim hatred, and you can be horrified by Hamas' massacre of Israelis AND condemn Israel's ongoing killing of thousands of innocent Palestinians. It is so depressing to me that it is this position which is currently the most controversial and the one that will elicit the most criticism from both "sides".

Sad that lots of people clearly still believe this.

@theJeremyVine Let the investigations play out.. innocent until proven guilty. His innocent colleagues @bbc have nothing to lose of fear… stop fanning up the issue and allow justice for the accuser and accused play it’s course.

I’m starting to think the BBC Presenter involved in the scandal should now come forward publicly. These new allegations will result in yet more vitriol being thrown at perfectly innocent colleagues of his. And the BBC, which I’m sure he loves, is on its knees with this. But it is his decision and his alone.
