We have to do better for renters - starting with longer leases & better conditions.
But also by giving renters pathways to home ownership: through rent to buy, help to buy or other schemes.
Most of all we need a plan for migration & an ⬆️ in 🏠 supply.

We are fortunate to work with so many agencies who care about the renters they serve and understand that the benefits of payments tech should not be at the renter’s expense.

Victoria making a serious play for GOAT on better rental laws: banning no grounds evictions, requiring evidence for bond claims, and ending BS fees to pay rent. These are important changes that will make it easier for renters to decent homes.

Survivorship bias means most people who hold themselves up as examples of what we all can achieve are instead ignoring that luck/circumstance was their major benefactor. Every "I believed and so I did" hides scores of others whose experience was "I believed and I was wrong".

@SB_Duggan Be good to see if they can maintain the shift and win ppl back! I’ve been stuck at Sydney this afternoon/evening flying virgin and I’ve just watched them tell a heap of people to find hotels nearby because of a lack of planes and delays after the storm.

Yes there’s been delays, but the notifications have been excellent and they have got me there every time asap. Absolutely can’t complain.

@batemanscott Yep. All we’ve done is allowed a shittier, less regulated version of taxis.
Same with delivery services: incentivised distracted driving/riding and pushed mostly vulnerable people into even more precarious employment.

Interesting. ‘Disruption’ rarely looks as disruptive when those companies have to achieve profitability. Uber is a shadow of its former self from a customer point of view so that it can do this. I’d argue it’s now worse than taxis were more often than not.
