@Captain_Deltic Haha, yes - and I have a radio face! I agree with you - the magic of radio is you can go into depth and you can change running orders to suit what is happening or what people want to hear. It’s company, it’s a friend and it’s a medium which will never fade away.

Happy Radio Day - still a great medium enjoyed by nearly 90% of the British population daily. I’ve been lucky enough to spend over 30 years in the industry and I still get to dabble once a week. Radio gave me so many memories and fun times 📻

@bathwellschap @Heidi_Labour The standout issue for me is her claim that the current level of subsidy is "unsustainable" without saying what subsidy would be sustainable. Otherwise says some sensible things, but nothing new. Mostly harmless.

It's official! I've been banging on for years about the importance of creating a "boringly reliable railway". Now it's official Government policy. In her George Bradshaw address last night the @Heidi_Labour vision included the railway "striving to become boringly reliable"

I see lots of people calling bullshit. I guess either @CrossCountryUK or @BTP can confirm since both were involved and I’m sure they’re investigating. It was the 13:15 from Southampton to Manchester today (13 Aug) and the incident occurred around 15:15.

Man I love my country 🇬🇧 On the train today, two girls without tickets started kicking off at the conductors, calling them 'fat slags', 'fucking lesbians' and all sorts. A non-white foreign passenger steps in, so they start firing racist abuse, telling him to 'go back where he came from' and that Farage & Anderson will 'sort his lot out.' Then half the carriage jumped in to back him and the conductors, including an old white man who could barely walk, but wasn't going to let that stop him from giving his two pence. The police were called, and a few of us checked in on the conductors. When all was said and done and the train was moving again, the old man got up and turned to the foreign man and just said "cuppa?" and honestly, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Absolute class act from everyone and a reminder that the vile vocal minority do NOT represent our great country. Call me naive, but I truly believe our country is better than the horrid politics of Reform UK, Nigel Farage, Lee Anderson etc, and when push comes to shove, when shit hits the fan, we know who we are – and man, it really ain't that, no matter how hard people like Farage try to make it so.
