The Australian Government listed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a state sponsor of terrorism in November 2025 after assessments found it orchestrated at least two attacks on Australian soil in 2024. The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security has recommended that the IRGC remain listed as a state sponsor of terrorism, with clear evidence the organisation supported terrorist activity abroad, including here in Australia.
