I think the Wiz starting 5 for next year is locked no matter who they draft come June - DnP will be coming off injury & Bilal defense is a must w/ Trae - AJ maybe but not sure you trust his shooting & defense out the gate over Ky - Boozer is mostly PF only, AD a lock

There is too much pressure to be at the top of the skull pyramid

My skull isn’t large or strong enough to be a load bearing skull in the skull pyramid nor is it aesthetically pleasing enough (symmetrical and spooky) to be towards the top. I know my skull’s role.

- You know the NBA is in a bad spot when you have teams BLATANTLY tanking in people’s faces. Tanking has been happening forever, but never this blatant. Back then teams used to have to make it look good or act like they were trying for David Stern — Keeping starters in and playing to 0:00. Benching starters for the whole second half or the 4th quarter like the Jazz, Kings and Wizards have started to do is nasty. Adam Silver’s NBA has just been decline after decline. David Stern would’ve never allowed some shit like this. He really ran the league like a mob boss.

The NBA has to plant their flag. They have one of two choices: 1) Stop making tanking taboo and recognize it’s a necessary part of team building in the NBA. Let teams do whatever is necessary to improve their draft positioning without repercussions. OR 2) Actually enforce anti-tanking provisions in clear cases like the Wizards today. Show you care about tanking. Heavy fines regularly for first time offenses. Potential implications on draft picks for repeat offenders. The NBA has hovered in the middle, citing taking as a problem but not actually doing anything about it. The league taking this outward “anti-tanking” stance means nothing without enforcement. Pick a lane.

@HChris15 Don’t think Deni minus Bub elevates us out of the top 8 w/ proper tanking but we would’ve just traded him the next year after the leap I’m a bit worried w/ AD not being able to shoot Sarr gets moved back to the perimeter more like with Vuc. Some skill transfer will come too tho

@bballApologist With Deni the top 8 protected pick would be in serious contention of going to the Knicks, he was on a different timeline for meaningful wins. Can AD not turn Alex into that franchise piece? We might get lucky this year in the lottery. IMO this is a no lose trade

If you believe that the draft lottery is rigged (I do) the Jazz and Wizards have made a fantastic case for the number 1 pick. Darryn Peterson on the Wizards would be so much fun

@HChris15 Young core grows as AD dwindles. If we don’t get a franchise player in this draft we get stuck with an expensive middle tier team. We moved on from Deni cuz the timing was off but now we have AD? More I think about it the more I think Ted put pressure on the FO

@bballApologist @Domo8186 Don’t see that happening at all, young core will continue to grow, with better talent to help them and the FO will continue to be aggressive, which we have never had

@ArcaneIntern @DubClayton Experts say next two drafts are bad, but usually at least one guy pops. But AD might push Sarr out of the paint back to the 3 point line when so much of his promise has been his deficiency moving closer to the rim. Trae should help everyone but it does push Tre to the bench

@bballApologist @DubClayton 2027 class is kind of ass imo. 2026-2027 season is a good opportunity for young Wizards to finally play meaningful minutes alongside with High-level players like Trae and AD. The vision is clear, building a solid foundation with flexibility.
