@cmdrsho The wax is very appealing, I wish it tasted good so I could eat it. I often feel like I should sculpt something with the wax, instead of throwing it away.

After 2.5 weeks germinating in a paper towel, about 1/3 of my reaper seeds have sprouted. Moving them to a seed starting tray, along with some jalapeños which grow a lot easier. Otherwise the parent pepper tree seems healthy and happy after a winter by the window. 🌶️🌱

My fifth year of pepper growing begins. Again carolina reapers, and jalapeños. 🌶️🌱

The stock was water, lobster shell, carrot peelings, celery, garlic, fennel seeds, bay leaves, a little oil, soy sauce, mirin. Simmered for 1 hour then strained. Added to milk, butter, tomato paste, roux, carrots, peppers, diced korean fish cakes, black pepper, salt and MSG.

Tonight's experiment: Lobster bisque! 🦞🥘 I ended up with some leftover lobster bits after a friend's wedding. Never tried this before; after simmering about an hour the lobster shells produce a very potent broth! After straining, added some milk, butter, roux, veg, spice, etc.

That one tune in Castlevania III... does it sound like a squeaky hinge, or maybe a plastic straw in a disposable cup?

Tonight's kitchen experiment: cherry cheese danishes. Layering butter into the dough was an interesting process.

Wanted too make beef and radish soup again, but beef has been getting expensive. Instead, I got myself a large pork loin, and the result of this variation was pretty satisfying.

Started watching Deep Space Nine recently, and something I didn't realize when I saw it as a kid that is kind of obvious to me now, how much it's modelled on old Western TV shows? It's a frontier town with a saloon. Horses are spaceships. Some kinda wormhole gold rush.

In 2008 for a time I was working on a prototype of a gravity shmup. Some experiments with rope and chains, and other 2D physics. I was even less good about finishing projects back then, though, so it was ultimately doomed.

I played Sub-Terrania on Genesis. A really cool gravity shmup, difficult but really fun to control. Very smooth. Might be my favourite of its genre? youtube.com/watch?v=enMMKH…

I played Excelsior Phase One: Lysandia, a shareware DOS RPG from 1994. It was very interesting! ...though at a few points I was thankful for its included hint guide. youtube.com/watch?v=3kKLsq…
