Labour are always by your side. As pick pockets tend to be I don't think they are unafraid, though. I think they are terrified at how unpopular they have become under Keir Starmer's leadership and are all positioning themselves to be his replacement
Lucy Powell MP@LucyMPowell

Labour has always been, and will always be, on the side of ordinary people, unafraid to take on those who want to stop us. My column for @MirrorPolitics in tomorrow’s Sunday Mirror 👇🏻 mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

Am told "Iranian protesters" are protesting in Canada against a peace deal and for a regime change war that could turn Iran into the next Iraq and see large numbers of Iranians dying or starving to death. Oh, they want Iran to be kicked out of the World Cup, too.

Kemi Badenoch is the Conservative Party's Ed Davey. Keir Starmer was Labour's Ed Davey before that. It's all role play politics. It's all reactive, not proactive. None of them really oppose. They encourage. They move the Overton window to enable. Why not replace them all with AI?

Zack Polanski has complained about the police treatment of Peter Kay. How are they supposed to get him if he gets bundled off the stage?

The Met police should not be hiding valid criticism of its methods and the behaviour of its officers behind 'raising tensions'. I don't want to live in a country where you can't openly criticise the police. Nor do I want to live in a country run by Zack Polanski.

Venerating the use of violence against anybody is pretty disgusting, but the state should have no preferred race, religion or political opinion when taking actions. Justice should always be blind. You'd have thought a human rights lawyer PM would understand that. It seems not.

I would like to propose the MoD and DSTL hold a competition to see who can create the cheapest logistics UGV, not the best. We need to start thinking seriously about cost. The rules 1. The UGV should be no larger than a standard NATO pallet 2. Any communications and control equipment must be contained in a 600x400x400 Eurobox 3. Any batteries must also be contained within a 600x400x400 Eurobox 4. The top must be free from obstruction and fitted with tie down points 5. They should be stackable such that two can be carried inside a standard ISO container (20 per container) 6. They should have fork lift pockets such that they can be moved by forklifts and telehandlers 7. The sides must feature a rail system to support tie downs accessories 8. The top must accommodate removable fixed side rails 9. All components must be readily available, commercial or military off the shelf 10. The design selected will become sovereign owned 11. The design must use standard fasteners 12. It can be tracked or wheeled 13. Design can be autonomous or remote control, or a combination. 14. No upper target on range, but minimum should be 30km 15. No upper target on payload, but minimum should be 300kg Extra marks for being the cheapest Double extra marks for being able to be fabricated in unit What about your rules?

EXCL: Wes Streeting has the numbers and is ready to go should a leadership race kick off after locals, friends and allies of the Health Sec tell me * They say he has the numbers in the PLP * Briefings from other leadership contenders that he is tainted by Mandelson is rubbish and he will be vindicated by the end of humble address process * Friends of Wes are extremely loyal and reach far and wide within the Labour movement, including among party members. Many got to know him during student politics days and have stuck by ever since. * On the briefings that he is tainted by Mandelson, an ally says: ‘What rumour could be worse than a tax-dodger?’

Who hasn't been forced to cut back so that they can afford both Which? and Guardian subscriptions? I know I once ordered a Strawberry Matcha Cloud Frappuccino and Signature Tomato & Mozzarella Panini without the usual slice of carrot cake and boy, did they look at me funny

Ed Miliband decided to ban traditional tumble dryers, because those stoopid traditional house wives just don't know what they are doing buying those cheaper and faster clothes dryers. A woman's place is in the home, waiting for the timer to run out so that men have clean shirts

The Labour Party promised to back the builders. Instead they have refused to enact supply boosting measures already on the statute book, refused to reform existing regulatory blockages like the BSR and SSR, and now are ploughing ahead with even more red tape. Just galling.

Not satisfied with the damage to the housing market from the Building Safety Regulator and Second Staircase rule, MGCLG are consulting on a requirement for evacuation lifts for buildings above six stories. This will all but kill construction in London. gov.uk/government/con…

Is it possible to set your computer or mobile to show everything in black and white or shades thereof and pay the BBC their black and white TV license for the privilege of watching non-BBC live streams on YouTube? They'd have to prove you saw colour in a court of law.
