The “9 must be a complete footballer” and “SS” discourse is blown out of proportion. 9s should be judged primarily as STRIKERs—and if Haaland putting up 50 goals across seasons at 25 gets undermined because his game isn’t aesthetic, we’ve lost the plot. Here’s what actually makes a great 9: > Arriving exactly where his wingers and midfielders need him to finish. That’s the job. > Having the IQ in & around the box to blindside defenders and open up space for himself or teammates. That’s a good striker. > Doing both of the above, while possessing the combo of physicality to withstand heavy contact and technicality to score a variety of goals — most in under 3 touches. That’s a top striker. Basically, if your striker scores 3 goals in 3 chances, that is a darn good striker, ya fool.

@ReshadRahman Looks like Julian would be inevitable then…… How much you’d reckon Haaland would go for in this day and age if he were to ever be moved?

@bbenditlike Bournemouth have already publicly said they won’t sell Kroupi this summer, not even for €100m.

Álvarez for €130m is the most Barça thing Barça could do right now. And it's wrong. For that same *heavy* €130m — sign Kroupi and Leão instead. Any spare change for a CB can be used for an all-timer in Josh Acheampong. He would be a bigger steal than Joan Garcia was. — A 9 that can scores goals for fun. — A winger who stretches the pitch and has 1v1 ability like Yamal to spread the load. — A generational defender who excels at CB and RB. Technical. Tactical. Flaws covered. Floor raised. All have the commercial pull too. And like Deco said himself, if premier league signings don't work out, it’s always easier to sell them back. Ain't that right Deco? I've done your work for you. Now go and execute.

Barcelona was never going to spend heavy on two positions, it was either: “We spend a lot on a top defender or a top striker”, not both. Now, it seems like the priority has become clearer, especially after Lewandowski’s decision to leave.

@MohammadAliBK We really like the same kind of players 😂 Saw your tweet on McQueen too. I rate that kid very highly too. Craziest thing is i really don’t pay attention to players who haven’t played in the top leagues too because i think they often don’t translate it over.

Most intrigued that he has “Pacho Legs”, which means : — Legs that devour space — Hip rotation to turn with faster attackers or block shots faster than most. — Elite dueler — Loose ball magnet Hafiz Gariba should weaponize this. Would be a game changer for him.

As a longtime Hafiz Gariba truther im finally ready to proclaim that he can become a starter at Barcelona with his level. Its absolutely insane.

This is what I was saying earlier today. As we grow older, we think we should have be calmer or made better decisions. Pep came into Barcelona and immediately said he’s didn’t want Ronaldinho, Eto’o and Deco, he wasn’t ready to give them a chance. Same way he arrived at City and was clear he didn’t want Joe Hart…but as he grew as a manager, he would do some retrospection and wish he made better choices. Those who will benefit from his better version are the players at the next club he’s going. A typical example is Sir Alex and Beckham. Sir Alex learnt struggled at the end to manage such players, but when Cristiano came, he’d learnt. Don’t stop growing, evolve or die.

LeBron James on Victor Wembanyama: "He has the ability to do things that we haven't seen in our league ever. You could tell by the way he talks, you could tell by his demeanor, like you know he knows the game, he was taught the game the right way. And San Antonio continues to get lucky as f*ck with these generational, talented, IQ, smart, but like listen ‘keep the main thing the main thing'. David Robinson, Tim Duncan, and now Wemby. Guys who just have this dead serious mentality. They have these horse blinders on and they like 'the mission is the mission, and that is all that matters', and it is pretty remarkable to see." #GoSpursGo #PorVida

@bettercallsd @szniic A young player with so much talent from the academy that can play across the front line on our bench is no negative. He would be a top rotation player for our starting attackers. Lamine playing 2500 mins a season is the real negative. Injuries and games can be managed.

@bbenditlike @szniic Y'all forget that he is still injury prone. This season alone he has missed 9 matches due to injuries, he is destined to be a very good player for the mid-table team. Ain't Barca level no more

Ansu Fati has always had the same natural gift of instincts & technical quality you now see in Endrick or Kroupi Jr. People forget injuries forced him to evolve more centrally. Before, he genuinely had every elite winger trait imaginable. He was Mane-type terrifying out wide—and I believe that this level of natural attacking talent never truly dies. If he can recover even 85–90% physically, there’s still a world class forward in there. Besides, he is only 23 years young. So what say you?

Was Ansu Fati at the level that Lamine Yamal is at now? ❗️Frenkie de Jong: "Ansu and Lamine are different players. Lamine carries the ball more and creates more play. Ansu is more of a goalscorer and near the box he was very dangerous."

@_Dissentient_ Exactly, it clouded fans judgement. Even at this moment, most fans cannot dissect what we actually need from him other his usual G/A. He honestly won’t give us what we want if you look at it from a bigger perspective. You suddenly become a bad person when you point it out. Grim

We don’t see him do stuff like this anymore, but you can still see the quality he possesses in his current state at least not in this comp. I love Rashy and I still think we need something different, but if he’s gonna stay, getting a top striker is non-negotiable. I don’t wanna see a makeshift LW when he’s on the bench.

random facts / context about ansus season - all of his goals scored bar a penalty in lorient and goal against club brugge were to tie a game, open a game, or win a game - Ansu has the highest goals per 90 in Ligue One; eclipsing Ous Dembouz - Ansu has the highest VAEP in Europe vs forwards (over Kane and Mbappe). this stat basically shows how much a player contributes to a play - Ansu ranks in the 100% against wingers for goalscoring - Ansu is also statistically one of the best player in the world to receive the ball and make a shooting chance out of it - This is Ansus 3rd highest minutes played in one season, while just only playing 1300 minutes (18th most played player in Monaco) - Ansu is the only player in Monaco to have scored 10+ goals as a winger/am since Mbappe - Ansu had played 1068 minutes between the last two seasons, being injured for approximately 5-6 months between late 2023 - 2025, he had absolutely no rhythm or mentality before this season - Ansu actually had started out with 6 goals in 216 minutes under the past coach, one who believed in him hugely, “I will play Ansu 10 games in a row without a goal”, until his replacement (who is a fresh new coach for the past year, had misjudged and removed Fati.

LOL what does “so much aura” even mean? Believe or not but I’m just recycling a lot of what I’ve tweet when I started cause I am somehow gaining a lot of traction over the last few weeks. But nah, I learn and see from a lot of great people who are on here and just make my views from there. But thanks man!
