Kentucky is in on Michael Ružić. LSU and BYU are also in contact with him. Not sure how confident I feel knowing LSU will offer a starting spot, but he could good.

It’s pretty evident the Stokes recruitment derailed their HS recruiting cycle. Not even a question at this point.
That said, Malachi is probably the bigger reason why this one fell through.

- Obinna was one of the first targets for Kentucky in the Class of 2027. - He was offered in September of 2024, just a couple months into the Mark Pope Era. - Visited Lexington in October when they played Purdue. - Visited Lexington in Feburary when they played Oklahoma. - Coaching staff conducted a in home visit right before the portal officially opened. - Kentucky was in constant talk throughout his entire recruitment before they backed off. Kentucky is still in need of a backup center and targets have dwindled. Makes you wonder if waiting on Tyran Stokes hurt their chances with other guys.

I hope Horst saw how Boston fizzled out and realizes he needs to adapt their roster philosophy.
GA + a bunch of shooters will win some RS games, but when playoff defenses adjust to 1D offensive players you stagnate.
Reliance on perfect bball in the offs isn’t sustainable.

I don’t get the Bucks fans flaunting Horst missing on TSJ.
Yes, Horst royally fucked up that draft, but I don’t think TSJ is the smoking gun. Plenty of other guards from that class that are on better trajectories and are younger.

He landed the same way (left then right) on vast majority of his dunks at ASU. Not sure what it looked like in HS, but I think that’s just natural for him.

@Bucks_Breakdown Yeah, I’m just under the impression they’re not a serious team next year with BP and Kuz.
I can see all 3 working well with Jenkins’ past system and being able to contribute early enough to warrant minutes.

@bbnhoopers I like Mara, but man that’d be tieing up even MORE money in your front court. GA, Bob, MT, Kuz are already top 4 on the team in $. I’m also trying to look at this from a perspective of who do they have currently, how can Jenkins use them.

I’ve been very pro-i don’t mind taking a guard at 10 (philon, mikel, etc.) for various reasons. But since the Jenkins hire i just wonder if they might be willing to reach for someone who’s a bit bigger and can do a few more things defensively

I’m honestly really excited for the Jenkins era of basketball. Kind of loved what I’ve seen after going back and watching recently. Very interested to see what moves are made in preparation for the style he wants to play on both ends.

Bottom line is the staff had all the momentum in the world a year ago. They attempted an all-in move, skipped over the gimmies they were handed, and it’s back fired.
Now their backs are further against the wall and we’ll get to see how much fight they’ve got left.

For the sect of BBN that says “I don’t care about the PR”. You should bc recruits most definitely care.
Only way to build up rapport is winning games or hitting on top recruits. Unfortunately they don’t play games for 5 months and the 27 HS class will be committing in that time.
