if you want to stop making failed yapper ads
stop creating as if you're selling the product
ask the real question: what would a customer actually want to see, hear, and vibe with that doesn't signal "ad" in the first seconds?
understand the objective of the ad first. the selling comes after.

make your yapper ads better with social proof
build authority into the script and you gain the audience's trust before the pitch even starts.
- she's been self-tanning since she was 13
- realistic storyline she actually lived
- people dm her for advice (the credibility is built in)
simple but goes a long way

you keep choosing the wrong UGC creator
every variable inside a yapper ad is a puzzle. this one's been running 302 days because every piece fits.
the product is a breathing enhancement tool for performance-optimizing men.
athletes, strong dudes. the creator looks the part. the demo proves it. avatar, product, and visual all line up.
next time you're casting a creator, ask the simple question
who's the most visually relatable version of this customer?
cast that person.

AI is not at the level of real UGC creators yet
it's getting close. but the raw energy and speed of how a real creator talks is irreplaceable right now. you can feel the difference in the first 3 seconds.
the easiest way to test yapper ads: take a validated scaling angle from your ad account and remake it in the yapper format. ez win.

@briantrinh_ Do you test them with AI first before you give them to UGC yappers?

girl eating a chocolate protein bar in her car. ad's been running 248 days
- controversial hook, instantly grabs attention
- shows the texture of the bar (looks hella good)
- "jump on this train" - scarcity and fomo built in
- drops the nutrition facts (protein and calories)
- "so yummy" + sweet tooth relatability
yapper ads are ez to make. you just have to understand how the audience feels in the exact moment they're watching it. nail that and the rest is just filming.

@briantrinh_ 297 days is wild. that ad has outlived most of my product launches
English

this SIMPLE yapper ad has been running for 297 days
- realistic location. clean bathroom, getting ready for the day, spray, mist, leave
- social proof built in: she's been stopped twice on the subway. who doesn't want that feeling
- drops the unique mechanism in casually - keeps skin hydrated for the dry skin girlies
no fancy production. no scripted angle. just a girl getting ready and casually flexing the result. banger.
English

brands underestimate how much logic matters in yapper ads
if your product is used in the bathroom and you put your UGC creator in some random spot in the house, there's zero logic to it. it feels like a stage with cameras behind it. the viewer clocks it instantly and braces to be sold to.
focus on every variable, not just the script. the location, the vibe, the exact moment. they have to be congruent with what's being said. that's what makes a yapper ad feel real instead of staged.

.@MehtabKarta asked me for my fav copywriting resources, and I didn't give him a good answer, so I wanted to dedicate a whole pod to it:
The most valuable copywriting inspiration I've ever gotten is from songwriters.
They're the best at writing in a way that makes people feel something. They're excellent at making the aspirational feel within reach. They're better than any marketer at making people feel at home, and comfortable in their lyrics.
Great advertising should aspire to do those things too.
So, in this episode, I share 3 songs that taught me how to speak to our customers with more familiarity, how to hype up our customers without being too cheesy or on the nose, and how to bring an aspirational lifestyle to appear within reach to our customers if they use your product.
Then I share the results of a split test (HINT: start your father's day content NOW), I gave the tweet of the week to @briantrinh_ for his recent tweet about yapper ads, and I answer a question about who you should be taking marketing advice from...

stop making yapper ads without the storyline dialed in
yapper ads don't work if the story isn't authentic and relatable. they only work when the viewer can't tell if they're listening in on a real conversation or watching an ad.
the product isn't the main focus. it's embedded inside the conversation so it lands in the subconscious. by the time they realize they were sold to, they're already convinced.

@harrydelmege_ your agency is fully booked now got a waitlist
Do you have recommendations for any others that can do yappers

Grüns is the GOAT 🐐 of yapper ads
this one's been running since january and the couple format is what makes it fire.
the value stack is relentless:
- easy to grab and bring on the go
- taste amazing
- stacked with health benefits
- 60 clean ingredients (vegetables, minerals, antioxidants)
- slots into your daily routine without effort
- adults getting to enjoy fruit snacks every day
- individually packaged
every line is another reason to buy hidden inside two people just talking. that's the move
English

you haven't cracked ugly yapper ads yet
i keep seeing brands claim they figured out the format, but all they're doing is making their UGC creator slightly more authentic. that's not it.
ugly yapper ads only work if there's a story underneath.
your creator can't just yap about the product. they have to yap about a real scenario the audience can place themselves inside. that's the whole unlock
the product shows up inside a moment, not on top of one.
