This is a picture of me and my first business. It was going to fail in six months. I just didn't know it yet. See that sales thermometer chart behind me? Never filled up. It was 2004 and I was a web developer in London. Gill and I decided to get married. I lived in London, she lived in Bath. I told my boss "I'm leaving to start my own company" and he said "Good luck - it's harder than you think." I laughed and thought he was full of 💩. How hard could it be? I moved to Bath, setup my computer in our top bedroom. Coded in PHP for weeks and launched FlightDeck - a SaaS product for design agencies to send large files to their clients (in 2004 you couldn't email files > 2MB). Charged £299/mo. I put a thermometer sales chart on the wall to motivate me. And six months later I still had no sales. Not one. I got depressed and started watching movies in the middle of the day while Gill was at work. Finally, one night at dinner, I said to Gill "I don't think this is working. I can't seem to get anyone to buy this product." I was embarrassed, defeated and depressed. Then it hit me ... Why not pivot the product from B2B to B2C? Everyone needs to send a big file to a friend right? So we rebranded as DropSend, gave everyone 5 free file sends and then charged a small monthly fee. Each free customer would send 5 files, each with a "Want to send files for free? Try DropSend" ad at the bottom. ✅ Product-Market-Fit 😊 The business rocketed from $0 -> $250k/year and then I sold it. The lesson I learned: Change, adapt, duck and dive. Just don't quit.

@bcf_ant Oh Ant - I remember when you did this and being really freaked out by it! Football-induced, yeah? Haha - yep, ‘single-handedly skewing’ the Midjourney output 🤣

A nice five-year reminder from Google Photos. I guess some of the hands output from Midjourney now makes sense 🤣

@todoist has anything happened to the widgets in the latest release? Mine stopped working. I tried removing it to re-add, but the Todoist is no longer a widget option. I'm on iOS 17.2

@ShaanVP It probably explains why my four and six year old sing your intro song when it comes on.

Celebrating #HangulDay on Oct 9th with my #HangulProject 🇰🇷 Using #Tensorflow and #WebGL, crafted the visual effects and interactions. From 'rain' falling to 'snow' melting, the sound of waterfalls, and 'blazing' flames, each piece highlights Hangul's uniqueness and creativity.
