@GrabskiTurf Two mandatory shifts. Everyone is scheduled to work 1 weekend shift. Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat. Weekends are choice of mow-n-go or full 8 hour shift. Anyone can take any time off they want if they find someone to trade shifts with of equal skill. We train everyone to be equal skill.

@stats_feed I lost a loved one to glioblastoma. Her slow deterioration and eventual passing was devastating at the time, and it hasn't gotten any easier since. All terminal illnesses that cause pain and suffering to the individual and subsequent trauma to loved ones are the worst kind.

@BPHTurf Clean flagsticks, cups, and flags. I buy the dollar store generic version of magic eraser to keep them looking clean and fresh on the course for very little cost.

Turf twitter: What are your go-to “low hanging fruit” tasks on the course that immediately improve playability or aesthetics? A quick wipe down of the benches, signs, and ball washers the other day made for an easy improvement with little effort. What are some others?

@TurfStu My 1st assistant superintendent job. I played hockey with a superintendent. He told me he didn't have an assistant. I told him my start date. He laughed. I showed up that day, and he told me he didn't think I was serious. I just kept showing up. Told him my salary. Hired myself.

@slimschadey161 Yes! Today was supposed to be opening day. 4 days later, and it's still hanging on in the more shaded sections and north facing slopes of the course. These pics were taken today.
