of course it doesn't fit the description, because it doesn't matter and they don't care to do a better job of clarifying. they are fine with all the silly noise about their "mistake". the more I think about, I think that my explanation is what Trump has in mind, but he is very poor at articulating it, perhaps even to himself. I suspect RFK doesn't quite get it at all, so he can't really help with the carification.

As a math teacher, I always try to understand what is confusing to a student. Here, the confusion is about two numbers (100 and 600) that differ by a factor of 6. That concept is being conflated with a 600% rise or drop.

Only if you define "reduction" to means "subtraction". You can only "subtract" 100% of something. Oops, well, you could go negative, so that's not quite true now, is it. But if we take reduction to mean "division" then a "1000% reduction" just means "divided by ten" or "one tenth". You can be as annoyed as you like if he's using your precious words this way. But inasmuch as he (or RFK) is explaining his *thinking* when he says it that way, it makes perfect sense. Except they both kinda suck at explaining it too, lol. Because they don't really care if you "get it". It doesn't matter.
