not one of my best moments. if i were to go back in time, instead of telling him to "let go of rationality", i would say that there is something distinctly rational to running the Faithless Christianity experiment: - pretend God is real for a month - pray to Him daily even if you don't believe - read the Bible (I would start with gospels) - try to be like Jesus - see what happens!

I am the happiest and most fulfilled I have ever been I have found my wife my purpose a reason to fight every day lots of people think I’m going crazy or having an episode. that this is a temporary thing. but they simply don’t understand the power of belief. I believe in Jesus.

"I don't respect your religion. I respect you." Religions don't respect each other by design. 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me' isn't a suggestion — it's the entire point. The whole 'I respect all religions' thing is just polite atheism. You can't actually respect contradictory claims at the same time.

This is not ragebait, this is me being as polite as I can in telling you that your view is not the only one, and I do not appreciate having yours shoved down my throat and told that I just don't know what I want. I grew up jewish in the deep south, I have had enough of this attitude to last me several lifetimes.
