HEY COUNTY ASSESSOR — THIS ONE’S FOR YOU. Let’s call this what it is. I’m being taxed on money I never made. Think about that. I bought my property in 2012 for $60,000. Now the county claims it’s worth $306,000. Did I sell it? No. Did I realize a profit? No. Did I receive a $306,000 check? Not even close. But my tax bill? That went up like I did. That’s the problem. This isn’t income. This isn’t cash. This is a number someone wrote down on paper — and now I’m expected to pay real money because of it. If my stock portfolio doubles, I don’t owe taxes until I sell. If my paycheck doesn’t increase, I don’t suddenly owe more income tax. So why is housing treated differently? Why am I being taxed on unrealized gains? A home isn’t just an asset on a spreadsheet — it’s where people live. And under this system, you can do everything “right,” pay off your house, and still get squeezed harder every year based on a theoretical value you never turned into cash. That’s not ownership. That’s renting from the government with extra steps. And spare me the talking points about “services” and “inflation.” This is about being billed for value you never received. People are waking up to it.

Someone this morning asked the question, "should I consider voting for Thomas Massie?" Here is my Reply: Yes, consider it, then grasp what it would mean, and then you won't. We all need to face the reality of what is coming. The Democrats have not held back. They've told each and every one of us exactly what they will do if and when they regain power. First, they have made it clear that they are going to come after every Republican. That doesn't mean they're just going to come after Trump, or JD Vance, or Marco Rubio. That's a given. But they're gonna come after Dan Bongino, they're gonna come after all conservative podcasts, and talk show hosts and channels. And they're gonna come after people who have been posting on Facebook or Instagram or TikTok in favor of Republicans versus Democrats. They've made it very clear that they're going to clamp down, smash down, and crush any resistance to their crazed ideologies. They're going to tear down the border wall, they're gonna give benefits to illegals, they're gonna bankrupt the country, and they're doing it for one reason. It's a trick. And they've fallen for it. The way communists gain power is to find people that they can conscript to their ideology, and then promise them that they will be part of the "elite class" to which all of the benefits will flow. They tell these fools that they will suddenly become powerful, wealthy, and "insiders" protected from government crackdown. And then what do the communists do? As soon as they win, they "disappear" aka, "kill" all of those people that they conscripted. Why? Because to the communists those people are not true believers, they were willing to turn on their own people, and the communists do not trust people who are not loyal to the death. Once they're gone, the worst of the worst will be in charge. So how do we combat this? We don't do it by pretending that everybody who's elected under the Republican banner gets to go to Washington DC, and pursue their own agendas, work feverishly to splinter the party, attempt to build coalitions around their ideology, and use phony polls by "liberty" organizations to rank themselves high, spread their Idiocracy throughout the public, and remain in power as long as possible. We need a unified Republican front to fight the unified front of the Democrats. We need loyal patriots who understand that this isn't about one issue, one bill, one ideology. This is about fighting off, destroying, thwarting, and overcoming powerfully the Democrats, who are out to destroy this country. Once we gain power in numbers too big to resist, THEN we can begin discussing agenda issues, individual bills, and if these proposals come those who are loyal to the party and loyal to the leader of the party, who helped us win, then and only then will they be given an audience, and have a more powerful voice. And for those malcontents who've been out there, preaching against the party, preaching against the president, and doing everything they can to grift their way into office, IF they survive they will be meaningless no matter who wins the battle. They need to be unelected now. So sure, consider endorsing Thomas Massie, consider it carefully, and when you do, the answer is obvious. Ed Gallrein for Congress.
