@BenMulroney @DrJacobsRad The deficit got lowered because of oil prices. Which the taxpayer paid for at the pump. Bait and switch, the Liberals didn’t do anything

Called it on my show: this government was going to try selling us that because their deficit came in below projections, somehow it can be MacGyver’d into “we have lowered the deficit”. I have a lot of respect for Ms. Church, but this makes me think she doesn’t have much for us.
Leslie Church 🇨🇦@lesliechurch

The deficit is coming down 📉 Home prices and rents are coming down 📉 The GDP is going up 📈 Non-U.S. exports are going up 📈 Why? Because our plan is starting to pay off. We are empowering workers, we are investing in Canada and we are Building 🇨🇦 Strong.

@JGoldberg12 Likely recency bias but I think Gausman is the best. Molitor was a difference maker for sure but the stabilizing force Gausman has been for five years has been massive. Clemens - great numbers as a Blue Jay but he cheated. Leaves a sour taste

Where does Kevin Gausman's contract rank on best free-agent deals in #BlueJays history? Clemens, Molitor only two I can really think of that could be arguably be ahead of it

I think it's easy to memory-hole Don Cherry's significance in 2026. But he was a cultural giant for decades, espousing loud, unapologetic patriotism long before it was mainstream. Anyway, I'm not sure what the OoC is supposed to be if not a recognition of Canada's most significant individuals, including the flawed ones
Bruce Arthur@bruce_arthur

The Conservative push for Don Cherry and the Order of Canada is a politicization of institutions, and it’s no-dummy, know-nothing, argument-starting populism, rooted in false nostalgia. In other words, it’s almost a tribute to Don. thestar.com/sports/nhl/why…

@ScottBilleck Buffalo is in the U.S., Winnipeg is in Canada. As much as we want to believe living in Canada is better……..I am guessing many NHLers would strongly disagree.

Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war.  Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace. I am focused on making sure that every New Yorker is safe. I have been in contact with our Police Commissioner and emergency management officials. We are taking proactive steps, including increasing coordination across agencies and enhancing patrols of sensitive locations out of an abundance of caution. Additionally, I want to speak directly to Iranian New Yorkers: you are part of the fabric of this city — you are our neighbors, small business owners, students, artists, workers, and community leaders. You will be safe here.

@thomasjuneau Is there legal justification for a regime that is able to mow down thousands of its own citizens in the street without cause?

US allies - Europe, Canada, Australia, others - are in a difficult position: -all of them oppose the Islamic Republic -of course there is no legal justification for this war, and they fear the instability that will inevitably come -all of them will take positions primarily based on the management of their difficult relations with Trump - much more than based on Iran. This is the calculus that matters. -what they fear more is angering Trump, and damaging already embattled relations with the US, and this is what matters at this point. -so expect broad support for the war, somewhere betweeen vague word salad and somewhat assertive, more overt support. But no opposition.

@acoyne Andrew, you can hate on Trump all you want, but any argument you try to make that taking out the Iranian thugs is a bad thing is wrong. Either you are for the vicious slaughter of thousands of people or you are against it. Pick a side.

@DownToBlack I think the penalties for going over certain thresholds should be heavier losses of draft picks and international money. Same at the bottom end, if you want to be cheap, you lose picks. Get rid of the qualifying offer/free agent compensation as well.

#MLB ⚾️🧵🪡The Discourse What I think people are getting wrong... What I think this is really about... Where I think it will eventually land... Let's start here: Parity... or lackthereof... Everyone is kinda wrong & everyone is kinda right... x.com/downtoblack/st…

Went thru MLB Payroll data going back to 2012... And wouldn't you know it, spending on your team works. Since 2012: Top 10 Payroll clubs avg 87 wins, reach the playoffs 48% of the time, account for 10 of the 13 World Series Champs & 19 of the 26 'CS winners.

WOW! Maybe I’m reading this wrong, but it appears that Iran’s supreme leader is threatening Trump in that he will expose his corruption if Trump decides to bomb Iran. Note that “island of corruption” is referring to Epstein Island.

@MLBcathedrals @TheDA53 At the high end put in thresholds if you go over you lose high draft picks and international pool money. Same thing at the low end - no tanking. Get rid of free agent compensation. Fixed.

@TheDA53 David, I respect your opinion. What’s your solution? It can’t go on with one Goliath (Dodgers) and a bunch of owners that are happy with sub-mediocrity as long as they are taking profits (Pirates)
