For outsiders, it might seem weird how hostile mainline Christians are to LDS but I can explain it. It’s financial. Most Christian pastors are paid, and paid commensurate with the size of their congregation. The LDS Church’s missionary work takes money out of their pocket.

Also, if the scripture taught that we were already the children of God, it wouldn't change my view of God. But the fact that it teaches we aren't his children UNTIL WE ARE ADOPTED really does throw your entire cosmology for a loop. I understand why you're blind to it. You have to be to maintain your dogma.

If that is hard to understand for you, it is only because your dogma is blinding you to what is right in front of your face. No, you're applying your theology to the scripture, ignoring the scripture that directly contradicts what you believe, and adhering to the scripture that may vaguely agree with your dogma. Charity fraud is one of the worst kinds of fraud that occurs. It harms the trust of well meaning people who give to charities. I’m all for uncovering more of this fraud, and I’m glad we’re turning the temperature up and exposing these schemes.
