@BearsBeyondGate Meant to say. Seemed to make a difference having lane at fullback. Plays like a full back should. Reads the game well.
Also, genge absolutely creamed one of our squad in warm up. Maybe barker? Went down with a shoulder injury. Not ideal
@BearsBeyondGate Bear-ometer absolute cringe. It can do one. Wouldn't mind if it actually measured crowd sound but automatically going up to 100% with about 3 people cheering was embarrassing
✍️ Versatile back-three player Toby Fricker has rejoined the club on a short-term deal as injury cover.
The @USARugby international joins with immediate effect 🇺🇸
@ThomasTainton just listened to @BearsBeyondGate pod. Genuinely impressed with your thoughts but especially that you took ownership of the good and bad of the last few seasons. Great to know that you are a fan at heart and like us, want the best for the @BristolBears#upthebears

#SALvBRI sale were decent today but jeez we left points out there. 2 balls dropped on the line for tries and 10 points missed at posts. Get those and we win that! Glad we got 1 BP but don't think it will quite be enough. Also felt breakdown was reffed poorly and inconsistently.
Sale go into contest at tackle. Hands on ground first and given pen. Sale look great with ball and fast to breakdown but some consistency is needed by referee.
#SALvBRI turnover being reffed so inconsistently. That's 2 where our jackler was on their feet, won the ball and then pulled over by sale and we get pinged
@BearsBeyondGate One other thing to say. I think it's odd that the kick offs aren't at the same time. If they had been, or if ours and baths game were the other way around we probably would have kicked it out knowing bath had no points. Kick off at same time means a more even playing field.
What are people's thoughts? Was it naive and poor leadership that we didn't take the three points, hence dumped out of all European competitions or quietly glad we can concentrate on the prem ?
Could spend a whole Podcast discussing....
@BearsBeyondGate I suppose the other argument is. Had we kicked it out and bath and benneton won we would have finished bottom anyway. We would be questioning why we kicked it out when we could have played on to try and win.
@BearsBeyondGate With 15 players and towards at least halfway I think play for the win. But we were deep in our own 22 with a man down. Hindsights a wonderful thing, and the only way we could guarantee a spot in Europe was a win. Needed the other results to go our way even with draw and bp.
@BearsBeyondGate I think it is a blessing and we can concentrate on the league. Frustratingly, think we could have had a decent run in the challenge cup
@bearoverbridge@rugbyontnt@premrugby That was diabolical. Any replay angles available? TMO said nothing.
Lozowski hit was ref saying he 'thought he was going to wrap' ... which apparently means no pen.
@rugbyontnt@premrugby can anyone explain how that wasn't a yellow or red for lozowski? No arms anywhere near bs3 and not even penalised. Then he kicks the winning penalty. Please explain #BRIvSAR
@JimBo94564254@RugbyInsideLine I didn't say we did but you're kidding yourself if you think bristol don't close that game out with two barn door yellow cards.
What a game!
Saracens overturn a 15-point deficit to beat Bristol at Ashton Gate.
A last second ice cold penalty from Alex Lozowski give Sarries 5 points.
Elliot Daly was sensational with two tries and a try saving tackle.
Heartbreak for the Bears.
