@NEXT4053 Sadly they're making fewer and fewer manual transmission cars these days. There's a joke that if you don't want your car stolen get a manual. Younger generations don't know how to drive them.
@moritakusan@Timebound_Timmy I mean...if I were in Japan I would do what's expected of me to respect your values and culture. If you were to come over here, just know that if someone invites you to their home for dinner or to hang out, is not a big deal...it's a fairly normal occurrence.
@ayashiikick@moritakusan For us it's a matter of familiarity...it's a comfortable setting for friends to bond. We don't have the same space issues you seem to have in Japan...and we're quite happy to have friends over to entertain.
@Calcijp@moritakusan Average home size in America is approximately 204-214 square meters. Japan is approximately 92 to 95 square meters. I can see why you guys like to go out.
@KArigane_39@moritakusan Ah...thin walls explains a lot. Walls are thick here...I never hear my neighbors...well except the one above me when he's getting ready for work...his work boots step heavy on the floor.
@KArigane_39@moritakusan I have a one bedroom apartment...around 800 square feet total...which is...um...oh God you're going to make me do metric....let's see, around 74.3 square meters. My daughter comes over my place at least once a week. I have friends come over for dinner and to watch a movie.
