This came out a month ago, because I’ve only just got my stock (the publisher lost the order then found the order then lost the order… then found it again!) But look how fab the indie editions of The Ending Writes Itself is.

@Lukesblog1 It suffered a little from “cliffhanger-itis” but I also still enjoyed the ride.

📚 Luke's Blog (Luke Harkness)
The Secret of Secrets doesn't quite give me the same thrills as the likes of The Da Vinci Code but I was still a fan of it. 👇 Read my full review

@TheVallyD Not sure what version you read. I recommend checking out the Harper Collins Study Bible, NRSV. Gives a fascinating deep dive and perspectives that challenge your brain in a new way.

I just finished doing a “close read” of the New Testament; had started on March 31. Whether one is a believer or not, it’s probably good to read it just to see for yourself what’s said, not said, and the context; especially as it has been used as a cultural & political touchstone… I’m glad I did it; there were some books I enjoyed more than others, though the way they all referenced each other was very interesting. At times there were direct contradictions between books & authors. Paul is a very interesting person, and his books have enough personal idiosyncrasies in the way they are written to convince me that he was *absolutely* a very real person authoring/dictating this material. That said, I probably enjoyed the more purely spiritual/esoteric stuff like Gospel of John & the book of James the best. I understand that there’s schools of thought regarding the Bible & the NT that every single book, sentence, and word in the official version is sacrosanct. But at the end of the day, James says “faith without works is dead,” & Paul is like “faith is #1, works are meh” (I’m obviously paraphrasing)…so who is right? I personally tend to lean more towards the “God is love” stuff, be good to your neighbor, help the poor, remove the honking big tree trunk from your eye first, etc. *That* all said…again, I’m not unaware of the various religious viewpoints regarding the New Testament. There are many differences of opinion between the different Christian denominations themselves. And some people want zero to do with the Bible at all. My own opinions on this work would not satisfy everyone, believers & non-believers included. I’m hardly an expert. At any rate: I’m glad I followed through to the end with it (though, especially given the current news cycle, Revelation was a bit of a stressful read 😬).

Some days, you find yourself back on Mike Wieringo's blog and scrolling through 20 year old entries, soaking up his beautiful pencil work all over again. Social media won't give you that. I wish art blogs would make a come back...

Is this a deal? $39 Texas Roadhouse has this deal for 4 burgers, side of large fries, a large salad and a bunch of rolls. This looks like a good deal to me.
