@BobLobLawMom I’ve been thinking a lot about this. Like it was really damn hard even before a global pandemic.

Kid 2 has runny nose/congestion and will stay home from school. Best friend's son has stomach bug. Neither are covid+ and here's my reminder that being a parent, esp working parent of young children in a society that undervalues caregiving was ALREADY hard, before the pandemic.

For those of us a certain age, it seems inconceivable now how much of our youth was spent fixated on quick sand and what to do if caught in it. What was that about? Did it go away? Was just explaining it to a kid and he thinks we were all on drugs. Were we? It was huge deal then.
