@just_some_dev yes, this is critical, and a mistake I've made previously and still make.
mold an environment as best you can to do your best, even if its not the easy or cheaper option. don't expect to 'lock in' if your nervous system is in constant defense

i've watched him since he was house sitting commercial real estate, no long term home. he builds his own synths and instruments, and uses those to make music. from that to Eurovision, with his own custom props too. yes, he doesn't have formal education like the other artists. i think thats only more astounding.

@just_some_dev oh I should note, I did register my passport in Germany much prior to the EES system, as it allowed less questioning and let you handle biometrics ahead of time. maybe that changed things.
English

i didn't have to do any kind of additional registration.
at CDG, they separated some of the EU automatic gates off which say 'out of order', with a sign in the front, and you scan your passport, then it lets you into the airlock, then it takes your pictures, and then they stamp your passport at a booth at the exit. i've done this 3 times now.
Belgrade aerodrom has a similar system, but a simple gate. and rather than a proper booth with walls etc, they have some ancient looking office desk with a officer that sits there and stamps you at the exit.

@just_some_dev i haven't traveled to Sweden from outside the schengen zone in a while, so i'm not sure what its like now
English

@just_some_dev hopefully. the EES system i'll admit can be quite nice when working well. it was easier to travel into the EU with EES than it is for me to return to the US as a US citizen.
English

@just_some_dev yep. just keep your receipts and your tickets and proof of where you are staying at least. it can get bad, but the last people i've talked to who've come to the country didn't get much friction.
English

yep, also shouldn't get flagged and be fine presuming I'm out long enough, only thing I have to be cautious about is there is a factual discrepency in that I said I will be in the US a week BUT I think that's fine because:
- I stayed in the terms of my ESTA
- I intentionally planned stuff to respect US law
- There's proof of where I was
English

@just_some_dev it will work out. keep your head held high. keep pushing forward.

My JIRA dashboard at Twitch took over 2 minutes to load.
The guy who built the infrastructure pointed the mic at the ground instead of his face.
Coincidence? Probably.

Atlassian just reported $1.79B in quarterly revenue and serves 350,000+ customers then fired the engineer who built their infrastructure He shares the whole thing a breakdown of Atlassian’s playbook: > Envoy over enterprise load balancers > sidecars for auth + logging + rate limits > DynamoDB + SQS > automated VM deployments

It always feels Americans are just acting a certain character when you talk to them. It feels like a performance.😅
