Last night, my wife and I went to one of our favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. As always, we loved the food, service and atmosphere. We shared a salad, each ate a dinner entree and had no beverages. After taxes but without tip it was $74.
We can afford it and will continue to to enjoy that restaurant. But these prices destroy demand. Eating out in Minneapolis and St Paul has become very expensive. Not because of some greedy small business owners making a ton of cash, but because of expensive labor mandates and high property taxes.
MSP and St Paul need to do a better job of lowering the costs of their taxes and regulations, otherwise more restaurants and bars will continue closing.

My question is this, could part of the decline of Uptown just be connected to the retail bomb in general? I looked to see where other locations for Apple, Urban Outfitters, etc are located now and many appear to be in malls, which we also know have really struggled

What killed the place is them leaving after they were repeatedly looted with little response from the city.

The Telegraph tracked 5 shipments of sodium perchlorate, the key ingredient for solid missile fuel, sailing from China to Iran since the war began.
The ships turned off their trackers for large parts of the journey. At least 2 lied about their destination.
All 5 are owned by Iran's sanctioned shipping lines.
These 5 shipments could contain enough material to produce around 785 ballistic missiles.
China's response? Sodium perchlorate isn't a controlled export. Just normal commercial trade.
The missiles' targets might disagree.

Meet Minneapolis is mainly funded by the city, so apparently tax dollars are paying to have Michelin come here.
I'm excited about Michelin rating local restaurants, but the city shouldn't be paying for it at the same time as cutting services and raising taxes on residents.

"There's no evidence of Iran seeking a nuclear weapon"
(1) Iran is enriching uranium to 60% purity, which far exceeds what’s required for civilian nuclear power (which is around 5%) or even research reactors (around 20%).
(2) Iranian documents stolen by Israel (a theft acknowledged by Iran) show the existence of a nuclear weapons program, including work on nuclear warhead designs and delivery systems.
(3) The IAEA reported in 2012 that it had “credible information" about Iran’s nuclear weapons research programs, and this included projects involving detonators and warhead designs.
(4) Iran is developing long-range ballistic missiles capable of reaching targets up to 3,000 km away, including parts of Europe. These systems make little sense in a conventional scenario.
(5) The IAEA has on several occasions declared Iran in non-compliance with its disclosure obligations, citing secrecy and lack of cooperation.
