@takeitlow65 @BBGreatMoments Didn't say that Will had spikes up. Hard slides were normal in the 80s. And I would hope that my double play partner had my back.
English

@beeriac @BBGreatMoments Disagree, he didn't spike Oquendo, cleats were down. His job was to prevent a double play - job well done. The dirty part was Ozzie Smith's punk ass.
English

@theficouple Considering that over 30% of the population is under 25, then yes this is surprising.

@MLB if Kyle Schwarber reaches 500 HR…is he a Hall of Fame?

@SecondAmendment @torchystacos And I hate tipping for counter service where I do all of the work. But when you pay BEFORE you get the food and you don't tip, the food will probably be dragged across the parking lot before you go get it.
English

This is supposedly at a @torchystacos in Houston... Rice village to be exact.
Torchy's is not full service... It is counter service and you get your own drinks.
20% tip for you to bring my food to me is stupid, and if the restaurant does charge service fees then I will take it out of the tip
I am over "tip culture"

English

@SecondAmendment @torchystacos Yeah, we don't pay servers with a good hourly wage so we have to tip them in the US. I hear Europeans complaining about that all the time on X. I get it. Just spent 2 weeks in Europe and half the time their card readers suggest a tip and I get nasty looks when I don't tip. Lol.

@BBGreatMoments The voters gave Kirby a pass because of his early retirement due to eye problems.
English

@CheeseheadBrian @BBGreatMoments I recall he got voted in before the violence
English

@BBGreatMoments Politics. MLB sympathized with Kirby's eye disease but ignored his violence.
BTW, Kirby would make a great biopic someday

@AstorAaron Moved away a few years ago and have not missed it. High taxes, high crime, terrible weather, overcrowded, ugly with no good hiking or scenery. The only saving grace was the food and people.

@AstorAaron Houston is one of the worst cities in the entire United States.

@InnocentTr4769 @MarketPalmer_ As long as you use that extra money to invest. Most people don't do that.
English

@MarketPalmer_ Unpopular opinion: paying off your mortgage early is actually a bad financial move. That money in index funds beats 6.5% interest almost every time. The math doesn't lie.

I was sitting with an 80 year old.
I asked him what advice he'd give himself at 55.
He didn't think about it.
He said: Stop saying I'll retire next year.
The good years in retirement go by fast.
He told me he said it at 55. Then 58. Then 62.
He finally walked away at 67.
His wife wasn't up for long trips anymore.
They never saw the grandkids grow up the way they planned.
He said: The years you think you're buying with one more year of work. You're not buying them. You're spending them.
I've been thinking about it ever since.
This doesn't mean you have to stop working.
Some people love what they do. Some people need the structure. Some people aren't financially ready and that's a real conversation.
The question is different.
Are you living life on your terms?

@Chicago_History @portilloshotdog Portillos. In my 20s or 30s, I could definitely finish an Italian Beef and and a Italian Sausage sandwich in one sitting. Not any more.
