❌❌❌ $ASTS payload was placed into an off-nominal orbit ❌❌❌ Roughly two hours after launch, Blue Origin confirmed that BlueBird 7 ended up in an "off-nominal orbit," suggesting something went wrong with the rocket's upper stage. AST SpaceMobile's FCC filing for FM-1 (BlueBird 6/Block 2) explicitly states: "FM-1 has an electric propulsion system using Xenon propellant." (FCC) Xenon + electric = Hall Effect thrusters. Will the satellite survive? • The satellite separated and powered on, it's alive. • Hall Effect thrusters have extremely high specific impulse (ISP ~1,500–3,000s vs. ~300s for chemical). The FCC filing states the onboard propulsion system is designed to maintain orbital altitude within ±1 km during mission operations. (FCC) • This means the satellite has enormous delta-v reserves compared to what it would take to correct a typical upper-stage orbit insertion error. ⚠️ The big unknowns right now are how far off the orbit is (inclination vs. altitude error matters a lot) and whether the orbit is stable enough to give ASTS time to raise/correct it. A low perigee that causes rapid atmospheric decay would be the worst-case scenario. If it's an altitude/eccentricity error, the ion thrusters almost certainly have enough propellant budget to fix it, that's exactly what electric propulsion is designed for. If it's a major inclination error, that takes vastly more delta-v and could be unrecoverable.

NG-3 Update: We have confirmed payload separation. AST SpaceMobile has confirmed the satellite has powered on. The payload was placed into an off-nominal orbit. We are currently assessing and will update when we have more detailed information.

Le cap symbolique des 50 000€ est officiellement franchi. Mon DCA mensuel de 1 963€ vient de s'exécuter sur le PEA. Comme prévu mon timing est parfait comme d'habitude puisque le Nasdaq et le S&P 500 sont en plein record historique. J'ai un vrai don pour acheter les sommets. 😂 Mais le solde est bien là. 50 620€ et +12,17% (+5538€) de plus-value . Acheter un ETF de manière mécanique et sans émotion marche beaucoup mieux pour moi que d'essayer de deviner le marché. Le plan ne change pas. Et de votre côté ça donne quoi ?
