2nd Apr, a local visit to Warnham Nature Reserve in the sunshine secured another year tick. Sadly due to distance and light not the best picture but the golden eyeing can be clearly seen. A Suffolk & Norfolk 2 day trip should push me past the 200 mark. Current Year Tick 199.

@CleyBirds @Holtbirder Great shots; I managed to catch up with it from Blakeney Quay carpark as I pulled up, it was being mobbed by every corvid in the area! Also possibly distantly south west of Wiveton whilst looking for it

This superb White-tailed Eagle graced Cley NWT for just an hour this morning before it flew off southwest. Very many thanks for the quick shout @Holtbirder. Lots more pics on cleybirds.com!

@stevewilson1706 I didn’t even know about it until it had left! You should get Garganey somewhere during the summer, but LP you will have to hope for NE winds in mid September and head for the Wirral.

29th Mar, after a great weeks holiday the birding gods kicked me again. After sleeping I headed for the Leach’s Petrel in Notts, a 4 hour drive and I miss the damn thing by 2 mins as it flew off, and even the Garganey did a vanishing trick. Feeling low already!

Long overdue but most welcome, this has just appeared at the beginning of Iron Road. We need one prominently on each corner of the main Cley reserve now. Does anyone still monitor Twitter/X @NWTCleyCentre ?

Question. Would you buy a car that’s 4 years old, has only done just under 8,000 miles but has no service history (presumably not had one due to lack of miles)?

@stevewilson1706 I hated flying too, but came to realise that these things are quite good at flying!

18th Mar, got to try to shake the doubts & my nerves of a pending flight (v nervous flyer lol) I’m going to head out tomorrow to see if I can gain a year ticks or two before Friday. Really slowed down right now on the numbers. My mojo has dropped. Got to pick back up. Year 193.

A really exceptional bird at Lowestoft Ness today and a very nice try for a Great Black-headed Gull given only a quick look, but sadly just a stained Herring Gull! (More pics at cleybirds.com.)

A dash this morning to Lowestoft for what would have been Britains first ever Pallas's Gull. Alas it wasn't one but nice to catch up with the overwintering Hume's Warbler.

I left my house at 10:15am and inbound Suffolk. Six minutes later, I received a car call saying “Pallas’s Gull has been re-identified as a Herring Gull”. Glad I didn’t go after reading first message.
