@grc_mcs @taildance Effects that improve visibility while looking this good is the two-for-one every game wants. The juice and the clarity reinforcing each other is exactly right. Great work.

Beat the Venomweaver today in @PlayKintara Checked the drop table afterwards and the rare drop chances are actually wild: • Snake Mount - 1 in 10,000 • Lightning Cape - 1 in 50,000 • Purple Party Hat - 1 in 50,000 • Gold - 0.5% • Materials - varies Seeing those numbers makes every kill feel a little more exciting. Not expecting to hit one anytime soon... but you never know. That's exactly what keeps me coming back. 😭

I honestly can't tell if this is your thing or not... but look at these fireballs. Five or six layers of them, circling the character. It's from Arbor's Crucible, an endgame mode in an older demo build. A certain combination of covenants unlocks an infinite dash, and every dash sets off another Crimson Waltz. The effects pile up so lavishly that the screen itself starts to come apart. ...Looks like a good time, doesn't it?

@whatgamesv1 Build variety is the heart of any roguelite, and part-swapping is a clean way to deliver it. Toy angle gives it character. Good hook.

YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW BLENDER TO MAKE THIS ANYMORE. GPT-5.6 drives it through MCP. you just describe the shot. a chrome figure carving a wave off an accretion disk. filaments of plasma raking across the frame. a car catching the same light on its way into the vortex. this is a viewport, not a render farm. the model never touched a menu. MCP hands it a socket into Blender, it writes python against bpy, it builds the emission shader, places the volumetrics, sets the camera roll. the hard part was never the picture. it was the ten thousand hotkeys standing between you and the picture. that toll booth just closed. it still can't see what it made unless you show it. you screenshot, you say the plasma's washing out the left third, it fixes, you screenshot again. the skill stopped being the software. the skill is now knowing what a good frame looks like and being able to say it out loud.

A bit late with this week's dev update! The goal was to make one mopping system work on floors, walls, and any angled surface. It already worked on floors, but the mop's orientation broke on different surface angles. After a lot of debugging and some math, it's finally working!

Imagine an open-world Roman game where you play as a citizen. How far are we from vibe coding a playable game like that? I asked both Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol to build it. At least a prototype, at least one district. And both managed to accomplish that! Thoughts: 1. I am still surprised by how far one prompt can bring you. A fully working prototype! 2. Both versions had bugs. And you will need to invest in testing and improving that. But that part can also be automated. However, I have a question: if you don’t know how to code, don’t plan the architecture, and don’t review the code. What if you are stuck in a problem that agents can’t solve? 3. Neither challenged me to use a game engine or a different library, e.g., Unity or Unreal Engine. Nor do they ask any additional questions. Which sometimes might be good, but a bit of pushback and testing my intentation for such a huge project could have helped? 4. I didn’t review the code. There is no clear winner for me in terms of the quality of the game. Both require a lot of investment in assets, testing, and craft to improve the game and make it really enjoyable and playable. I wonder if I could automate asset creation with the quality as in my reference image. If that’s possible, it might take game development to a whole other level.
