Protesting this morning outside the Port of Brownsville's press conference regarding Trump's oil refinery. Here's our quote opposing the oil refinery: "Brownsville community has opposed this oil refinery for over 7 years since it was first proposed and will continue to do"

This dangerous oil refinery was dying because of a lawsuit and it's a bad investment, but the Trump administration has unfortunately revived it.

"The oil refinery, which plans to operate across the ship channel from the shrimp basin, will severely harm the Rio Grande Valley’s shrimping and nature tourism industries, as well as destroy our sensitive ecosystem, and worsen climate change."

@beksbot @JustDogHair It’s possible he is eager to convey strength in the Texas refinery sector. As if they’ll build the Brownsville refinery to supplant lost production from Corpus Christi. Wait until they discover there is no water in Brownsville, either.

A 30 second explainer for The Border Chronicle on Thursday's protest opposing the Trump Administration's buoys on the waters of the Rio Grande. The organizers of the demonstration said they wanted to protest as adjacent as possible to both the International Bridge and the Brownsville Charro Days parade. You could hear the Charro Days festivities from Alice Hope Park where the event was held and see the banks of the Rio Grande on the Mexican side through the border wall bars. More to come on this.
