@lflfilipe Toothpaste works to get permanent marker out of wood. (So sorry this happened. ❤️)

@lilwaynekennedy @munakadri This is incredibly true. I did all of those things when I was new, precariously employed and childless. I am none of those things anymore and can't imagine doing all I used to do.
English

@munakadri That's because the education system thrives on stealing the unpaid youthful hours of childless new teachers. Without it, the school system couldn't run. Grad, dances, student council, sports.

Random thought for the night, teaching is 1 of the few careers where experience isn’t cherished
I look at job postings for other jobs & they emphasize years of experience desired, but for teaching I often hear complaints about experienced teachers struggling to get hired

#OSSTF is sending daily emails now counting down to the end of the vote on Sept 27 and saying, “Vote yes! Vote yes! Vote yes!” and all I hear is “Demobilize! Demobilize! Demobilize!” and it makes me sad for future worker solidarity and union power. 😔

UAW President Shawn Fain keeps his promise to expand the Union's "Stand Up" strike. Workers inside of 38 parts distribution plants in 20 states walked off the job at Noon today. Fain joined striking workers outside of the MOPAR Distribution Warehouse in Centerline, MI. @WWJ950

Some of the top reasons for #OSSTF Members to VOTE YES on the bargaining pathway:
#1 - It creates pressure we need to get deals done at central & local tables. If the Ford gov continues to refuse to bargain fairly, it will go to an arbitrator.

This is the reason Mr. Lecce and @fordnation keep floating trial balloons about abolishing school boards. They want to sell off the land and Boards would stand up for their communities.

This is so so sad...

I can confirm I’m one of the Metroland journalists laid off today. I worked with some incredible reporters and editors in my five years with the company. Community journalism is turning into a lost art form. This is a devastating day for Canadian media. #cdnmedia

More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS
As the @UAW strike started, media swarmed union president Shawn Fain. But when they asked him questions he pointed to the workers around him and said: "You need to be taking their pictures. You need to be asking these guys what it's about. This is what we're fighting for."

I actually personally voted for you to come up with a viable plan B. If you can't do that in the hottest labour moment in a generation, why do you make double my salary?? #osstf

@tachyondecay Please post how it goes! (Our District's in person meeting is still over a week away... 🫠)

Let's go to this local #OSSTF meeting about the bargaining pathway proposal and ask questions 🧐
