@Jaymitto7 Oh I know! And it's a great change with Midnight in many ways.

@BellularGaming Michael, Gear is not the game. Try to understand that and you would have a better time.

Alts are really fun in Midnight! Gearing is a little too fast, but being able to progress via hard (ish) solo content is a great palette cleanser now that I’ve got Curve on my main.

@BellularGaming Lilith story arc has elements of things that have happened in WoW... Albeit executed far, far, far better. I think a big problem is the patch cadence. WoW story doesn't get enough iteration internally cuz they're rushing to meet the 8 week cadence.

Gotta be real: if we had a touch more Diablo 4: LoH tone in WoW, we'd be fucking golden.

@Jiromeru Many in the comments feel like they’re reacting based on another reaction, rather than actually having experienced it. (Or people who did so but tuned out).

@Jiromeru Edgy aesthetics without the required tone almost always backfires. The seems a lack of internal meaning in Azeroth these days - it’s too tonally homogenous, and picks a tone that they struggle to execute well.

@BalthialDK Yep! That’s why I said a touch more - so just a bit of tonal seasoning. Not full bore like Diablo is. (Unsure if the auto translate is losing nuance both ways)

Can the Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred writers please take over for World of Warcraft because holy shit. This reminds of what Blizzard USED to be. I’ve been having a blast.

@Deceiverr_13 @BellularGaming Surely you've had a job, of any kind, at some point in your life. What you do at that job is never your choice. You're lucky if you work somewhere that your opinions are even taken into consideration, let alone acted upon.

so (sniff) to me, the perfect world of warcraft gameplay, it's uh... we have an amount of 'content' we get through, and then the (snff) substance of it is not there. we make our own story, for, well, the game-play, the playing of the games, it's all 'content', so, you know, it's

Apparently there's some new chat platforms people are using in Iran because all the mainstream ones have been blocked and somehow this fking EsMount emote has been spreading there...

Haranir are to the racial/cultural historical worldbuilding of the Warcraft setting what Shadowland's "Zereth" lore was to the cosmic metaphysics worldbuilding of the Warcraft setting

Another thing people have rightly pointed out is how replaceable devs are. Especially in an industry ravaged by huge job cuts. Devs clearly can't speak up in ways that matter. Plus, the tallest blade of grass is the first to be cut.

Devs not being 'bad' is leaderships responsibility. They're the vision holders and ultimate quality control. Bad isn't a great word IMO. Bad work happens for a wide variety of reasons. More than anything, this comes to mind...

Deceiverr13@Deceiverr_13

@BellularGaming I’m sure you can understand why it’s hard not to blame devs too at this point. Whether the devs are doing a bad job, or are just being forced to put out garbage it’s really difficult to not blame them for not pushing back hard enough on leadership’s poor decisions.

And for the record, I don't subscribe to the 'devs bad' line. I think they often do 'bad' work, but for a good reason: they're absurdly multithreaded. @covingtown recently talked about working on 6 in parallel. Split focus kills art.

So I played 007: First Light last week. A rare treat for me. And I didn't want to stop. It's very much not Hitman, but you can tell it was made by the same people. I pre-ordered it the moment I left the event

I despise Zekhan because he's very clearly the same type of NPC as Calia and others where whatever they say is TRANSPARENTLY some dev's chastizing the playerbase
