It’s looking increasingly likely that I may be off to hospital for an operation. I’ve been putting up with some pain for a decent amount of time - which I put down to the stress and loss of the last couple of years of my life. It turns out that it isn’t. I will continue to try to campaign in the lead up to this election - but if my husband gets his way I may disappear from here for a week or so - dependent upon what happens at the doctors early this week and how soon they can get me into hospital. Keep fighting the RW bullshyte. If we don’t fight - we get the government we deserve, not the government we need.

It was my birthday today and I haven’t been posting much. I’ve been reflecting on past birthdays and how I enjoyed them with my parents. My husband even bought gifts for me from my beloved dogs so that they could be a part of it. My doggos may not have been quite sure what was going on - but they enjoyed the attention they received and the treats from their favourite visitors over the years - Mum and Dad. I haven’t celebrated my birthday since my parents left me. It feels a bit hollow right now without them. With the passing of my dogs before my birthday this year - even more so. Despite that I am still grateful. I reflect on the miracle of my birth when it was doubtful that Mum would have any more children and how lucky I was to have had them both for such a long time - especially in these last 3 decades when I really got to know them as an adult. I’m hopeful that one day my birthday will be something special again - and not something that I see as a reminder of happier times with those I loved.

@ColinKi02276809 My husband is. He is worried about my sustained sadness with the loss of my parents last year and my two doggos this year. It has been difficult to get through and happiness at present is understandably elusive. He thinks that a new pup may be the answer for me.

I caught up with Kim Richards and the crew - plus this cutie patootie in the Redlands for a roadside this afternoon. Kim is an amazing state MP for the Redlands - and she has done so much work to support the whole community here - including the bay island community. The LNP have been targeting the Redlands in their efforts to pick up some longstanding Labor seats - and there has been a considerable amount of muckraking via the media and certain toxic social media groups who shall remain unnamed. Apparently “youth crime” is out of control in the Redlands 🙄 Once again, for those up the back.. …. according to QLD police data - youth crime has been steadily declining in Queensland for 20 years.
