@rsms @awesomekling I just wrote my master's thesis about exactly this topic. This programming style is sometimes also called hole-driven development. "It’s kind of like building a house where walls are unfinished while the roof is built." is a beautiful analogy! Thesis: github.com/bemayr/mcmsc-m…

Die Vorschläge von @GFelbermayr zur Budgetsanierung belasten Arme stärker als Reiche: Kaufkraft der Sozialleistungen runter. Klimabonus weg. Steuern auf Zucker, Alkohol, Tabak. Unternehmen und Vermögende kommen nicht vor. Wieso sollen die nichts beitragen? orf.at/stories/337527…

`rainbow_log` is becoming surprisingly useful! It takes a regex, runs that on each line, and colors matching lines uniquely based on the matched substring. I use it daily in my testing work.

Really interesting talk Matthias! 👏 Btw. there are a lot of takeaways for creating tools for programming languages (especially LIVE ones) as well. Thinking about spatiality, topology and connectedness of individual but related parts. 💭

this is why we need to normalise sharing scrappy fiddles so that wonderful and talented people like Mariano are encouraged (not discouraged) to share their work
Mariano Guerra@warianoguerra

@TodePond Most of the feedback I get is "anti scrappy fiddle": I don't get it. You sound boring. Your audio setup is bad. You need a designer. You should rehearse more. You should edit more. It's too short/fast. It's too long. It's not finished. Etc etc.

- 404 and 422 are targeted at analyzers for proper hole usage (as I don't have the luxury of a structured editor) - I am currently heavily re-thinking the concept of lifting todo comments into hole comments (308 -> 307)

- `HoleStatement` is the name for a "real" hole (whatever hole can mean in a in a language that's not supposed to have typed holes) - `NotImplementedException` is what I defined as "simulating holes" in C#

During my thesis I came up with a mapping of some properties of holes to HTTP status codes, putting this out here after talking about it with @disconcision and @chrisshank23 as I don't think I even mentioned it in the thesis.
