New Feature: Message Tipping You can now tip individual messages in Flipchat. It's like reactions, but better. To send a tip, double tap or long press a message, select the amount of Kin you want to tip, and swipe. Super simple, and super fun!

Today we’re releasing a demo app called Pennypost — a simple writing tool that empowers any writer to add a $0.25 paywall to their content. It’s like Substack but micropayments for individual articles instead of subscriptions. We built Pennypost as a demonstration of the Code SDK, enabling us to dog food the existing platform and test new platform features like “Login with Code”. At @getcode we are big believers that while building a platform, we should be one of its power users so that we deeply understand the needs of developers and can continue to add more features and offer great support. We picked Pennypost as a use case because it’s a product we all wished existed already – everyone knows the pain of hitting a paywall that you have to subscribe to read. And as we talked to more and more writers, we heard a similar sentiment where they wished there was a third option to monetize beyond charging subscriptions or embedding ads. This first version of Pennypost is intentionally simple. This is meant as a demonstration so there are a number of features we decided to leave out for now to leave room for others to build on top of this experience. These additional features are stubbed out internally. We’d love for you to test this out and share any feedback.
