I assume many will see my latest @NewYorker column as churlish and grumpy. Fair enough. I am a lifelong Argentina fan, like tens of millions also from the Global South. But this is not the team that stirs my childhood nostalgia

Big takeaway at World Cup : Far fewer pen area skirmishes. War on dark arts / bogus injuries / and wasted time has largely worked. Players know they will not get away with much and acting accordingly. It CAN be done. Premier League take note. Take harder line.

@Gonner41 The red card wasn't rescinded either, just the suspension delayed. If Olise gets a 2nd yellow and the suspension isn't also delayed then yes everyone should be mad!!

So can we all agree now that for Balogun this was not "due process" or "justice" but just the Trump Card ?
